George
I probably shouldn't make assumptions about other people's relationships, God knows the public did enough of that with mine, but as I find myself staring at Elijah and Ella, my mind can't help but taunt me about how they look like a real couple.
I don't remember the last time Ella and I were out like this. There are so few photos of us together which, looking back, should have been one of the signs of a failing marriage.
The signs were there, that things weren't perfect or quite right, but I ignored them.
"The Gala has just been perfect, Mrs. Elizabeth. Your chefs certainly are world class. Ella had to pull me away from eating all the shrimp puffs," Elijah jokes.
"To be fair, I only did so because we had to try those little apple tarts," she says teasingly. "We've been having such a good time Mrs. Elizabeth, I'm so glad that I could finally make it this year."
"Oh, I'm so glad you're enjoying yourselves. We simply must catch up. Sarah, is there a table prepared?"
