chapter 5:The Family breakfast

*

Luther walked through the expansive halls of the Derik estate, the morning light streaming through the tall windows, casting intricate shadows on the polished marble floors. The weight of his past life's mistakes and the promise of this new beginning pressed heavily on him. As he approached the dining room, memories of his family and the tragic events that had unfolded flooded his mind. The heavy oak doors, adorned with carvings of mythical beasts and ancient symbols, stood as a reminder of the Derik family's rich heritage. Taking a deep breath, he pushed them open and entered.

Inside, the dining room exuded a warm, inviting atmosphere. A long, finely carved mahogany table was set for breakfast, laden with an array of delicacies. At the head of the table sat Gavin Derik, his father, whose stern gaze and commanding presence had always been a cornerstone of Luther's upbringing. To his right was Aleena, Luther's mother, her gentle demeanor and warm smile radiating kindness. On the opposite side sat Ariana, Gavin's second wife, who was gracefully pregnant, her hand resting on her rounded belly. The sight of her, so full of life, stirred a deep protective instinct in Luther.

His brothers, Oliver and Dennis, were already seated. Oliver, the eldest, exuded a composed confidence that Luther had always envied, while Dennis, with his sharp features and quiet intensity, seemed the embodiment of their father's unyielding resolve. The sight of his family, whole and together, filled Luther with a mixture of hope and sorrow, the memories of their future suffering still fresh in his mind.

Gavin noticed Luther first. "Luther, join us," he said, his voice carrying the weight of authority and concern. Aleena looked up, her eyes softening with a mother's love, while Ariana offered a warm smile, her eyes filled with unspoken support.

"Good morning, Father, Mothers," Luther greeted, his voice steady despite the emotions churning inside him. He took his place beside Oliver, feeling the familiar but heavy atmosphere of the family gathering. Gavin, ever perceptive, seemed to sense something different about Luther but chose not to comment immediately.

Aleena was the first to speak, her voice gentle yet firm. "Good morning, Luther. It's wonderful to see you with us today," she said, her eyes conveying both warmth and a silent prayer for his well-being.

Ariana, always the picture of calm and grace, added, "You look well, Luther. I hope you're feeling better." Her tone was soothing, an anchor amidst the emotional storm within him.

Oliver, with a slight smile, nodded at him. "It's good to have you here, brother. How are you feeling?" His tone was friendly but probing, a subtle hint of the concern that lay beneath his calm exterior.

Dennis, usually reserved, offered a simple nod. "Morning, Luther." His words were few, but his gaze was intense, as if trying to gauge Luther's state of mind.

The meal proceeded with an air of formality, the family's noble upbringing evident in their mannerisms. Despite the wealth of food laid out before them, the conversation remained light, a customary prelude to more serious discussions. The family's status and responsibilities were always a looming presence, particularly in these troubled times.

Gavin, as was his custom, eventually steered the conversation towards more pressing matters. "Luther, your coming-of-age ceremony is approaching. Have you considered your future path?" His question was direct, yet his tone was devoid of judgment, allowing room for honest reflection.

Luther paused, collecting his thoughts. In his past life, the inability to master aura techniques had been a source of deep frustration and shame, leading to destructive behavior and strained relationships. Now, with the knowledge of his unique body condition—a rare constitution that hindered conventional aura techniques—he saw things differently. He understood that his path lay not in abandoning martial arts but in finding a technique that harmonized with his unique abilities ,for example his past life diving dargon aura technique was one like that and it one portion of 4 divine techniques,Luther thought for a moment and said in calm tone.

"I've been thinking a lot about it," Luther began, his voice steady and thoughtful. "While traditional aura techniques haven't been compatible with my condition, I believe there are other paths worth exploring. I want to find an aura technique that suits me, one that aligns with my strengths." His words were imbued with a quiet determination, a promise to himself and his family.

'I can't say I already know a one part of such aura technique to father ah ,sighed Luther in thought

Aleena reached across the table, her hand resting gently on his. "We trust you to find your own path, Luther,"

Luther, hearing his mother's words, looked at her with countless emotions in his eyes. He felt a mixture of happiness for the second chance he had been given, sorrow for the mistakes he made in his past life, and anger toward the one who had killed his family. These emotions swirled within him, leaving him both grateful and vengeful.

Determined, he vowed that in this life, he would ensure that those responsible for his family's downfall would pay. Luther resolved to become a powerful person, one that no one could dare to challenge. The path ahead was clear: he would rise to a position of strength and protect those he loved, ensuring that history would not repeat itself.
