“I did not think I would run into you here,” he smiled, stepping closer to her. He lifted her chin just like he did back at the sex bar. His touch was gentle, soothing.
Winter could feel herself relaxing.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, his voice was raspy with need as he stared down at her lips.
She stood on her toes, she could kiss him now.
They could finish what they started. She wanted to. Badly.
Focus. Focus. Focus.

so far, the characters are well developed with great motivations. tithe world building is well thought out so far with little information being dropped as the reader moves along and my favourite character is definitely Carol. I am in love ❤️
Reveal Spoiler
This is a dark, brutal world and Winter is a heroine forged in tragedy. The author has a gift for wrapping you up in all of the feelings, tender or tragic, that shape the characters and it's easy to immerse yourself in the world and the people that fill it. It's a little slow to build our FL/ML from the childhood events that shape them into the adults that drive the dirty but the investment is worth it for how rich the characters become in the process. 10/10, would recommend to anyone looking for a dark romance of power and betrayal.
Great story telling, and the characters are well fleshed out. I enjoy the realistic dialogue and the descriptive scenes. Winter is coming and I'll be sure to watch her. Highly recommended.
