Chapter 13: Warning

Chapter 13: Warning

Sevi stepped into the office, immediately struck by the sense of history and authority that filled the room. The walls were lined with shelves of ancient tomes, their spines cracked and worn from years of use.

Behind the desk stood a strikingly beautiful woman, her long, dark hair cascading over her shoulders. She wore a fitted, elegant robe that accentuated her slender figure, and her piercing green eyes met Sevi's.

'...tbh, i thought the headmaster would be some stinky old man.' Sevi thought, feeling slightly taken aback by the headmaster's appearance.

"Welcome, Sevi," she said in a smooth, melodic voice.

"Please, have a seat."

Sevi nodded as he approached the desk and took a seat in one of the plush chairs opposite her.

"I trust your journey was pleasant?" the headmaster asked, folding her hands gracefully on the desk.

"Yes, it was," Sevi replied, still taking in the grandeur of the office.

"Thank you for having me."

She nodded. "We are pleased to have you join our academy. Your studies and training here will be rigorous, but I have no doubt you will excel as you are the Duke's son."

"Uhh, sure."

Sevi didn't really feel anything special about being the Duke's son. He was more interested in finding out what class he would be in. He patiently listened as the headmaster began to explain the academy's structure.

"Let me give you a brief overview," she began.

"Our curriculum is divided into six years. Each year, students progress through increasingly challenging courses designed to develop their skills and knowledge in a variety of disciplines. The first two years focus on foundational subjects."

"Our academy focuses on developing skills in combat and magic, with a primary emphasis on attack-based classes. There are four main classes: Magic, Swordsman, Bow, and Magic-Swordsman. Each class has its own curriculum tailored to its discipline, ensuring that students gain the specific skills needed to excel in their chosen field."

"The academy also has other branches that focus on different areas, such as blacksmithing and alchemy," she explained.

"However, the main academy here is dedicated to attack-based classes."

Sevi nodded, absorbing the information. "So, which class will I be starting in Ma'am?"

The headmaster smiled. "Of course. Given your background and the recommendation we've received, you will be starting in the second-year of the Swordsman class. This will allow you to quickly catch up and then advance through the remaining years at an appropriate pace."

'Yes!! Swordsman class! I would be cooked if I was placed in the magic class.' Sevi thought, remembering his F- rank magic skills.

Sevi felt a surge of excitement at the mention of the Swordsman class.

Just then, a firm knock sounded on the office door. It opened to reveal a rough-looking man with a weathered face and a sturdy build.

'...this person looks tough.'

The headmaster gestured to the man with a nod. "Ah, perfect timing. Sevi, this is Sir Varric, your instructor for the second-year Swordsman class."

Sir Varric stepped into the room and regarded Sevi with a keen, assessing gaze. "Ohh, this is the transferee? I'm Varric. I'll be guiding you through your Swordsman training this year."

The headmaster smiled and added, "Sir Varric, please take Sevi to his class and get him settled. He'll need to familiarize himself with the training schedule and meet his fellow students."

Sir Varric nodded. "Understood. Follow me, Sevi. I'll show you to the Swordsman class."

Sevi then followed Sir Varric out of the office.

As Sevi followed Sir Varric, he couldn't help but think, 'So this is my instructor… he looks more strict than sir Garef.'

As they made their way down the hallway, Cedric approached them with a friendly wave. "young master, I'll be heading back to the Duke's house now. I wish you the best of luck here."

Cedric then ruffled Sevi's hair. Sevi simply smiled and let him, feeling a bit of comfort from the familiar gesture.

"Thanks, Sir Cedric. Safe travels back home and take care."

With a final nod, Cedric turned and walked away, leaving Sevi to continue his walk with Sir Varric.

They soon arrived at a large building adorned with an emblem of crossed swords. Sir Varric led Sevi inside, up a grand staircase to the second floor, and then down a corridor to a classroom door marked with a brass plaque indicating it was for the second-year Swordsman class.

Before opening the door, Sir Varric turned to Sevi with a serious expression.

"One more thing before you enter. People here can be quite hostile toward transferees, especially those who join mid-year. Keep your head up and just focus on your training."

Sevi nodded, "Understood, Sir Varric."
