Trent twisted the door knob and pulled the door open, revealing himself to the hallway. The lady who had knocked stood before him with a wide smile spread across her face.
"Mr. Docker!" She exclaimed with high brows as she skimmed his dressing quickly.
"Please...just call me Trent," Trent responded, stepping into the hallway. He was glad that she didn't jerk away from him; he had worn a nice perfume that day and wasn't smelling sweaty as he usually was.
The young woman nodded and said, "Follow me, then, Trent." She tapped on her black transceiver headset and started down the hallway. Trent tagged behind, letting her lead the way and also to get a good view of her behind as she did so.
He felt like a man of high calibre at the moment. Never before had he been in a suit and flat brown shoes. He played with his special pen as he walked, following the young lady as they diverted into a corner that would lead them to the exit of the prep building.
Suddenly, they bumped into another woman and Trent immediately recognized her as his lawyer. He had to hire one at least. He knew nothing about contractual processes and even though he had done some despicable things to be certain the management of Vyle wouldn't cheat him, he had to back himself with a lawyer.
She immediately grabbed his arm and pulled him away from the young lady. "I hope you didn't say anything to her?" his lawyer, Kamila, asked him and Trent slowly shook his head.
'I'm not dumb. I'm a scammer, I can't be scammed.'
Kamila reckoned to the shake of his head and gestured they continue.
They exited the building through a glass, transparent revolving door, and Trent found himself under the dark night sky. Almost immediately, the bright white flash of a camera blinded him. Trent quickly recovered and, on taking a look around, saw that there were thousands of people crowded in front of the building they had just exited.
'Wow! They're all here to see me?' Trent thought, as Kamila shoved him away from their outstretched hands with microphones. Some guards were keeping the numerous people at bay with security tapes, but even so, some still fought their way through.
"Mr. Docker? How are you feeling about the global launch of your game? Did you ever imagine reaching such a wide audience?" One man managed to get his mic close to Trent, which Kamila quickly shoved away.
Trent wasn't all that shocked, but he felt some tingling joy swirling inside of him. Another paparazzi bumped into him, her face flushed with desperation to get answers. "Do you think your game will change the gaming industry in any way? What elements of your game do you think are innovative or groundbreaking?" She asked.
'Oh, my game is changing the industry, alright,' Trent thought as he ignored her question and continued his walk across the street to enter the main skyscraper of the Vyle company.
Nonetheless, the crowd refused to back down. They followed Trent even up to the pavement of the company's premises, struggling and pushing themselves. A few girls had broken through the security and rushed up to Trent, asking for a selfie.
Trent smiled as he threw his arms around their waists. 'I would never refuse this, would I?'
However, Kamila didn't allow that to happen, she pushed the girls away, breaking the screen of one of their phones and didn't bother to apologize.
"Do you have a special message for your fans who have been eagerly waiting for this game? What do you hope they take away from playing it?"
"How did you manage to create such a realistic and immersive environment? What aspects of the game do you think players will find most engaging and why?"
"Considering the time spent in VR, have you researched or considered the long-term effects on players? How have you addressed any potential concerns about VR addiction or disorientation?"
More and more questions were being thrown at them, and Kamila became so irritated that she had to reply on behalf of Trent, who had told her earlier that he wasn't an outspoken person. She stood before the struggling crowd, and they all paused, lifting their cameras and resuming their questions.
"My client is deeply committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the realm of virtual reality. And also making it accessible to everyone financially capable. Efforts have also been put in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience of gaming while promoting interactions and discourage overuse..."
Trent chuckled in his mind. He knew his game was surely going to be addictive. All elements Incorporated in it would make a youth never leave the realm.
"...the success of the game would definitely change the industry and the market with the introduction of Paxcoin. So, our message to the fans is to get ready for a wholesome ride," Kamila finished and immediately turned, the people resuming their loud unending questions.
She gave Trent a reassuring smile as they followed the young lady into the towering Vyle skyscraper. Inside, secret service agents dressed in black were awaiting his arrival, and they took over from the young lady, who scurried away to attend to the orders coming in through her transceiver.
Kamila continued speaking, instructing him on what he should say and what he should not say when he gets into the room with the high-ranking management. Trent maintained a neutral expression, his mind racing with wild thoughts
They took a lift in the exquisite interior and finally arrived at one of the top floors. The lift opened with a ding, revealing a magnificent large room where everything seemed to be made out of glass. And on the glass conference table, there sat a man Trent knew already. He was the man that picked up his Paradox idea and presented it to the others.
The man glanced at the arrivals and a smile spread across his face. "Templar!" He announced Trent by his gaming name.
