My First Beast Taming

Trent turned around, his boots crunching into the ice with every step as the figure in the cave made its heavy, rhythmic thuds. The roar echoed again as Trent focused his gaze on the deep darkness within the cave, a darkness even more intense than the surrounding atmosphere.

He deployed his lightsaber, holding it steady as he prepared for the dragon's approach. "System? Tell me about this beast," Trent ordered.

Beast: Dragon

Role: First Out Of The Unitude

Explication: Indigenes blessed with the Mana of the Dragon tend to produce Red Essence. It is one of the rarest Mana sources attainable.

[Old Keepers are meant to be here to defend the beast from any disturbance]

[But I suppose, this Darth Lord, who have tamed it must have defeated them]

Trent frowned at the mention of the Darth Lord. He twirled his lightsaber around his fingers. "So, the Old Keepers got breached, didn't they?" Trent remarked as the thudding sound drew nearer, and he could now see the massive figure of a dragon emerging from the cave.

A pair of horns surfaced the darkness first. Trent noticed they were spiral and black, with tiny intricate molten golden designs. The horns scraped the top of the cave, causing a few rocks to fall as the dragon's head came next. The red blazing eyes quickly locked on Trent as it slit pupils shifted menacingly.

Trent couldn't fathom how large the creature was and moreover, it only had its head and long neck out, the body glimmering with a mix of royal red and faint golden. The dragon let out two puffs of hot steam from its long, tapered snout that had a natural moustache beneath it.

Trent stood still, even when the beast gave another roar, releasing a gush of wind that would have been strong enough to push Trent away if not for his [Strength]. Seeing this, the Dragon staggered its whole mass out of the cave, curves of smoke now drifting from its nostrils as it unfurled its wing. The huge limbs extended out, so large, they covered the distance of five mountains from both sides and casted a dark shadow over Trent.

The Dragon sucked in air with a horrible frown, jerking its head back with the neck, before thrusting it forward. Trent could see a spark of fire ignite within the darkness in its jaws that had just opened, circulated by razor-sharp teeth. A rug of fire unfolded from the dragon's mouth and zoomed with blazing, engulfing speed at Trent who remained still. The fire blazed everywhere, turning the chilly atmosphere to warm immediately.

The dragon kept unleashing its fiery wrath, believing it had roasted Trent alive. Yet, as the flames cleared and dispersed, Trent Docker stood unscathed, though his figure smoked like a piece of charred firewood. He glanced down at his arms and feet, satisfied with their untouched state, before raising his gaze to meet the dragon's eyes. "I have [Fyrestorm], y'know?"

[Taming a Beast is simply the demonstration of one's strength of Mana Keeping and probably, Essence channelling. A feat to be displayed in unison with durability, against the Beast's attacks to prove your worthiness to summon it at anytime and place]

[Be careful, Nightingale. It is said that a dragon does not drown in fire]

Trent chuckled, rising above the ground with Essence energy lifting him to face the dragon's disturbed expression. 'It is already a tamed Beast. That clearly shows this won't be difficult.'

"[Fyrestorm]," Trent declared. "[Fyrestorm: Inferno Ascendancy]," he added, and once again, a cocoon of fire engulfed him like an anime character entering an ultra state. "[Ultra swing Fyrestorm: Inferno Ascendancy Lightsaber (Red)]!" Trent proclaimed, powering himself and his lightsaber beyond the norm.

"Beastie!" His voice thundered through the icy expanse. "I'm going to beat the hell out of you. This isn't going to be a 'who's a good boy?' kind of session." Trent positioned the blazing fluorescence of his lightsaber inches below his right armpit, bending his knee into a perfect attacking stance that radiated the lethal skill of the Darth Assassin he was. "[Flash Strike]!" he yelled.

With [Flash Strike] Trent dashed with unreal speed toward the Dragon, leaving a zooming trail of red Essence energy behind him. In return, the Dragon executed a swift spin and batted him away with its fat tail. However, Trent with heightened stats and abilities, managed to see that coming at the last second and he gripped the Dragon's tail, simply becoming one of its spikes on it.

The dragon roared with a shriek, fully emerging into the icy expanse and unleashing a blazing torrent of fire toward its own tail in a desperate attempt to burn Trent off. But Trent was too fast and too smart for that. He quickly regained his balance, using the dragon's sloping back as a running plane. His Mana-powered weapon was outstretched, his body flaming with [Fyrestorm], and his visors were locked on the dragon.

Trent leaped off its shoulder and delivered a heavy strike to its neck. The dragon shrieked loudly, its cry shuddering the mountains and causing chunks of ice to tumble down as the strike was so powerful, it skidded backwards and crashed spine-first into a mountain.

"I will give you not a chance," Trent declared while airborne, watching the dragon shake its head, smoke billowing from its nostrils as it flapped its massive wings.

[Mana Channelled!]

"[Surge of Wrathing Path: Swift Engulfing Divine]!" Trent proclaimed as his body quickly transformed into a blazing comet. He streaked through the dark, cold sky, forming an orbit before locking onto the dragon and zooming toward it. Trent relished every moment of this; he was just utilizing the Manifestation he had gained from the Boss he had slain.

Seeing the blazing light rushing toward it, the dragon stood its ground and inhaled deeply, sucking in raw air to expel as a ferocious stream of fire.

Roarrrr....

The dragon coughed out as much as it could, but with [Surge of Wrathing Path: Swift Engulfing Divine], and the streamlining it came with, Trent pierced through the wall of fire, driving straight through the dragon's chest, through the mountain behind it, and emerging triumphantly from the other side.

The dragon growled pitifully as a burst of red energy, instead of blood, oozed from the vicious wound Trent had inflicted. "Sorry, but I have a goddess to satisfy," Trent murmured, feeling a bit moved as he decimated this dragon. He positioned the blazing, fluorescent blade of his lightsaber between his palms like a swordsman presenting a katana. Suddenly, a black, velvety, semi-liquid material erupted from behind him, spreading like tentacles into the cold air.

"..."

[Mana Channelled!]

"Dungeon Unsealed," Trent whispered to himself. "Level One! [Cardinal Across Shadows]!"

Nightingale had extracted the Manifestation of unsealing a Dungeon from the Boss he had slain, granting him the ability to unseal any of its three levels at his discretion, anywhere and anytime, thanks to the immense Mana stored within him.

Trent didn't allow the Dungeon to fully open; instead, he initiated a brief, 10-second Dungeon, just enough to perform specific Manifestations that required its presence. The Dungeon appeared briefly in the sky like a starfish, with its central eye starting from behind Trent.

"[Tendril Blood Bind]!" Trent summoned ribbons of blood from the Dungeon behind him. They unfurled lethally, gripping the dragon and preventing the Mana-filled beast from escaping as Trent prepared another Manifestation.

"[Rain Of The Arteries]!"

That was the final blow. Deadly spikes shot out from the starfish-shaped Dungeon, spearing the dragon from head to tail.

Trent watched as the Dungeon half-open, the dragon staggering in anguish, bleeding raw energy before it finally collapsed onto the ice, breaking some bergs and revealing the cold water beneath. "Dungeon Sealed," Trent muttered, and with that, [Cardinal Across Shadows] retreated back into him.

Trent descended to the icy ground where the head of the dragon lay slumped in weary and pain. Trent glared at its weak, green slit pupils and its wings that fluttered as if trying to raise it off the ground. "Very beautiful creature," Trent whispered to himself in disbelief after he had just realized that he was indeed Trent Docker, touching a dragon's eyebrows!

The dragon whined in pain, but allowed Trent to stroke its scales. After a while, it suddenly found the strength to rise to its feet, fluttering its large wings and revealing its now fully healed body. Trent marvelled as the towering hundred-foot-tall beast loomed over him, its beauty fully restored.

The dragon majestically took off into the sky and flew into the horizon, before making a swift, flapping spin and began flying towards Trent, head first. Trent could hardly believe it—he was actually taming a dragon!

Spreading his arms and puffing out his chest, Trent welcomed the creature, opening his Mana Core within him. The mystical dragon obediently flew low, heading straight towards him. As it neared, a portal of red energy emerged from Trent's chest, and the dragon seeped into him with a reddish-golden glow.

The process concluded as the dragon's tail vanished into Trent's chest, and he found himself breathing hard, feeling the immense power that now resided within him.

[Congratulations, Nightingale!]

[First Beast Successfully Tamed!]

[You can now summon it at anytime and anywhere in the Paradox]

[Beast can be levelled up into more lethal versions, the more you cultivate]

[Mana Core increased!]

Trent couldn't help but smile beneath his mask. He could feel the energy of the dragon within him, swirling and dancing around in loyalty to be summoned at any time of his choosing. Trent chuckled, whistling for Claw as he got to his feet after being overwhelmed by the taming process.

He glanced at the centaurs, still engaged in battle with the monsters pouring out of the Dungeon gate rift.

[You wish to deploy wingsuit?]

[YES] or [NO]

Trent selected [YES] and the wingsuit materialized on him, propelling him into the sky with a whoosh. Once in the sky, Trent undeployed the wingsuit, and he was left to be a soaring figure.

"[Beast Summoning~Divine Emergence: Red]" Trent proclaimed as the red figure of a dragon began to materialize beneath him. The dragon fully manifested just in time for Trent to land on its back and sit on its neck. 'Hell yeah!' he thought, gripping its flowing whiskers to steer the dragon he was now riding.
