Cleveland varsity was not at all what Nicole thought it would be. It looked more mysterious, old and majestic than the varsities back home in South Africa, well the dorms anyways. She was yet to see the full campus, but the look of the dorms gave her a deja vu type of vibe. Maybe it was all the movies she had watched that were messing with her head she thought.
"Well, this is it Nicole, Welcome to Cleveland. I think the other dorm mom, Sammy, will help you with finding your room. My wife and I will just go to town and drop the kids off at their aunt's place, we'll see you soon dear."
"Thank you so much Mr. Wilson, I really appreciate it, truly."
And she did, thinking to herself how long it would have actually taken her to get here all on her own. She was really glad he had stopped and helped her. His fiancé on the other hand was a different story. She knew she couldn't 't wait for her partner to just drive off and because of that Nicole really did think about ignoring her existence but even then, she knew her mother would never approve of this type of behavior, so instead she chose to swallow her pride once again and respect this woman.
"Thank you to you too Miss Addams. God bless you and your family."
"We really have to get going honey, the kids are tired and hungry."
Nicole grimaced as Mr. Wilson gave her a sympathetic smile, motioning towards his fiancé's behavior and drove off, leaving Nicole standing there outside the dorm building. Hauling her suitcases and duffel bags, she walked forward into the castle like building, excitement pumping through her veins. Nicole couldn't help but gasp as her eyes caught sight of the building inside. Her eyes widened in awe as she took in the lavish carpeting, large staircases and portraits hanging on the wall. In the middle of the room stood a large vase of lilies and a wooden oak table. Nicole inched closer towards the table as she spotted pamphlets of her varsity next to the vase. Before she could reach them, a voice of a woman rang out from beside her.
"Hey there dear."
Looking back into the direction where the voice came from, she found herself looking at a woman in about her early twenties. She had a good deal of smooth, feminine thighs that were exposed by the short shorts she wore, short enough to cover everything though. Her dark long dark brown hair fell in waves down her shoulder blades and back. The hair moved so gracefully, causing Nicole to notice her strong, slim shoulders, tight waistline and long graceful neck. Taking her in even more Nicole noticed that her shorts had been paired with a black tight vest and adidas white takkies. If this was high school, Nicole knew she would clash a lot with her.
"Hi who are you?"
"I'm great love too, thanks for asking, my name is Charlotte short for nothing lol and I'm guessing you're Nicole."
"Yeah, how did you know?"
Nicole had been expecting to meet up with this so-called Sammy so the fact that someone else here knew who she was raised immediate alarm bells in her head. Sensing her uneasiness Charlotte flashed Nicole a bright smile, while throwing a hand full of her hair over her shoulder.
"Sammy asked me to come assist you today, she's swamped dealing with all the new students since the grinch aka Madam Addams dumped all the work on her and took off. Bitch much am I right?"
"Yeah lol, glad I'm not the only who dislikes the woman."
" Hold up, you've met her, like already?"
"Yeah, was stuck sitting in the same row on the plane here with her and her kids then in the car on the way here too, her husband offered me a lift to the dorm building."
"Damn I feel sorry for you love, btw try your best to stay away from Mr. Wilson. Word around here is he has a thing for hot young babes like you. Pretty sure that's the reason why Addams is always too grouchy, lol can't blame her though."
Nicole didn't feel like Mr. Wilson was what the rumors said he was, he was just genuinely a good, nice guy. Blushing at Charlotte's statement about her Nicole chose to cut the conversation short so she could just get to her dorm room and sleep.
"Lol yeah, we definitely can't blame her. So, Charlotte, mind assisting me in finding my room?"
" Sure, of course darling here let me help with some of your bags. So here is your room key, and class timetable."
"Thank you."
Nicole couldn't help but grimace as she took a look at the timetable Charlotte had just given her.
"What's wrong love, everything okay?"
No nothing was okay. Her day just seemed to keep on getting worser and worser. Pointing at the time for her classes on her timetable, Charlotte simply frowned, shaking her head in response.
"I hate morning classes too, so much. You seem to have it worse though, 8 o'clock on the dot damn. I feel for you girl."
Groaning loudly Nicole following Charlotte up the staircases till they turned left at the second floor and approached a door written 202. Inserting the key in and opening it, Nicole and Charlotte walked into a medium sized living room with three doors on either side. Opening the closest door on her left she discovered a moderate bathroom that had a bathtub, shower, toilet and sink. Fair enough. Opening the other door close to the bathroom she discovered a room with a single bed, study desk and Wardrope. Not bad. Wanting to view the other room too on their right before deciding which to pick she discovered that it was locked, meaning someone had already claimed it.
"Sammy must have placed someone in there already. Damn, girl is working through her list quicker than me."
Returning back into the other room Nicole dumped all her bags onto the floor, including the ones Charlotte had on her. Stiffling in a yawn she thanked Charlotte for helping her out, trying to cut the conversation as short as possible.
"No problem girl I can see that you are done for today not that anyone can blame you. Here, give me your Ig handle and I'll Dm you there. We'll\chat properly once you're well rested."
After typing in her Insta handle, Nicole bid Charlotte goodnight even though it was still morning. Walking back into her room she pulled out her duvet and hopped in underneath. Pulling out her phone she quickly texted her mom and little sister that she had arrived, was safe within her dorm room and would call them as soon as she was awake. Switching her phone off she pulled the covers over her head and dozed off, tired of the day's events already.
