Chapter eleven

Nicole had never done well with hangovers. Most probably because she hardly ever got them. Waking up from the small couch in Lyron's dorm room Nicole could barely feel her body, much less anything else. The only thing though that she had as a prominent reminder of Saturday's and last night's events was a constant throbbing one sided headache,

Jesus Christ, she couldn't believe what her life had turned into. Instead of going back to their room yesterday like they had originally planned, Ava and Nicole had woken up to Charlotte bringing in boxes of pizza plus more liquor. After staying a bit longer and choosing to leave at night, the boys convinced them to stay by taking them out to one of the clubs that apparently Luca owned.

Apon coming back during the early hours of the morning Nicole and Ava didn't even bother returning to their dorm and instead passed out on the couch.

Reaching her hand out onto the coffee table Nicole grimaced as she realized that her phone was off. Who knows how long it has been off. Bringing her wrist up to her face she noticed that her watch read 7am. Damn it. She only had an hour before her ballet class.

Pulling herself up from the couch and slowly removing the heels she wore that were lent to her by Charlotte, she yanked her phone from the table and slowly walked over to Lyron's bedroom door. Banging on it she tiredly called out to Ava, letting her know that she was leaving.

After hearing Ava groggy response Nicole walked out of Lyron's room and made her way towards the girls' dorm room. Ignoring the looks from other students walking past her to their first day of class, she dragged her exhausted body up the stairs till she reached her and Avas' dorm. Inserting her key inside she groaned out loud as a familiar voice rang through her ears, a voice she thought had long vanish from the earth, or at least where she was.

"Well, well well, isn't this a lovely surprise. Not only two months in and you are already whoring around and drinking your scholarship money away."

Looking behind her she noticed that Madam Maria stood behind her with an annoying smile on her face and a clipboard in one arm. Choosing to ignore her Ava opened the door instead and walked into her dorm room. Right as she was about to close the door Maria put her foot in, stopping her from closing the door completely.

"I always knew you were a waste of breath from the moment I saw you but now seeing you here with your body reeking of alcohol and neck with hickeys, I now know that you're a waste of money. Your mother would be embarrassed and ashamed if she saw you right now."

Nicole knew her mother would be ashamed, but she also knew that she owed Maria no explanation whatsoever. Drawing courage from the little alcohol in her system she opens the door wider, holding her head up high and giving the nastiest look she could master.

"I know you are an adult, and I should respect you, but you don't deserve an ounce of my respect, and you never will get it. Instead of wasting your breath on me why don't you waste it on your husband who seems to find more satisfaction in sleeping with young college girls than his own wife. I may be a whore as you implied but at least I know how to get a man interested in me even your husband apparently."

Upon seeing the mortified and enraged look from her, Nicole smiled sweetly before slamming the door shut in her face. She hoped she wouldn't have to see that woman again but knew that it was unlikely. Walking into the bathroom she stepped into the shower, not carrying whether the water was hot or not and just stood there, letting the water run down on her and hopefully wash away all the alcohol stench from the weekend.

Stepping out of the shower she walked out into her bedroom, chucking the towel onto the side and getting ready for her ballet class. From the time on the clock which resides on her study table she threw a fit as she realized that she only had 20 minutes left before her class.

Popping some headache relievers into her mouth, not even bothering to drink a glass of water instead chose to suck on them and slipping her phone into the charger quickly she yanked her gym bag off the floor before rushing out the door. Even with a hangover she made sure to never miss her classes, as of now though.

Walking into the dance class, she has never felt like throwing up more than that moment. While the first exercise started: the demi-plies, her head already felt like it was spinning as her vomit tried fighting its way up to the top. She could feel that her posture currently lacked its usual firm composure, and her legs weren't steady as they usually were when supporting her body weight.

Feeling a set of eyes on her she looked up only to find Tammy looking right back at her. Nicole hadn't seen her since she and Ava walked out on her Friday night and now having their eyes connect across the room, she suddenly felt guilty. She knew Tammy was probably mad at her if not furious and understood the cold look that currently danced in her eyes.

Much to her surprise, instead of looking away and giving her the cold shoulder, Tammy smiled before pulling her face and sticking her tongue out to her. Smiling back Nicole stuck her leg out before dangling it in the air, an attempt to show Tammy that there indeed was no bad blood between them.

"Well, well Miss Nicole, it's nice to see that only do you show up to my class with Friday nights liquor still lingering in your veins as your dancing shows us today, but you also find the time to make a mockery of my class and dances. Once you find my classes useless for you, please exit my class and don't bother coming back. Is that clear?"

Releasing a deep sigh, Nicole curtsied before excusing herself and walking out of the hall with her gym bag in hand. On any other day she would have the patience to deal with her but today she had zero patience for anyone and anything. Alcohol really does wonders to people.

Walking up the path leading to the Business class wing, she pulled out her timetable before she shrieked as it was snatched out of her hand. Turning around she relaxed her body as her locked with Tammy's ones. Grinning from ear-to-ear Tammy schemed through the timetable before looking up at Nicole again.

"Where are you going?"

"Class duh, classes are starting today remember."

"I know but my question is where are you going, you could barely stand on pointe today and you expect to last through hours of boring lessons today? Come on babes you're smarter than this and you know it."

"Well, what am I supposed to do, I don't want to skip classes on the first day and what are you doing here, ballet classes aren't over yet."

"You walked out of class and left me all alone so i followed you and besides madam was a bitch today and she knows it."

"Well true that."

"Now let's do this, so you are so intent on going to class and all of them are morning classes, mine are mostly in the afternoon. I'll just go in your place and take your place then tomorrow once you're all better you can attend them all yourself."

"You can't go as me; lectures will know something is up. I am the scholarship girl remember?"

"Trust me, they will do anything but notice that I am not you. Besides you don't really have much of a choice. You look like you are going to drop dead any minute now. Go to your res, rest and I'll see you in the afternoon with some burger king okay."

Watching Tammy skip away into the building Nicole couldn't help but smile to herself. Tammy was right, she needed to rest and sleep all the alcohol away. Having Tammy sign the register for her today isn't going to harm anyone honestly.
