Different Realities

The path to the city was completely silent; neither she nor I said a word about what we had just discussed. As the silence persisted, I looked at the sky and realized it was already late because of the sun's heat. Memories came flooding back. I loved running in the afternoon, from shadow to shadow, to escape the sun's heat. It was one of the few things that distracted me from the sad reality I lived in back there. After passing through the small field, we finally arrived in the city.

"It's better to go in silence, hiding among the remaining houses. We need to know first if the horses are still around."
