He looks at Griffin and notices a taller man beginning to approach him; it was Griffin's leader.
He was walking toward Tail, observing the surroundings.
"Tail? You, of all people?"
The man, named Linus, had recently been appointed leader of Griffin. He knew Tail, though he was much older than him. Linus held a strong admiration for the boy, as he had often watched Tail's training in secret, seeing how hardworking he was.
"Why did you... No... You're going to die, boy!"
Linus shouts, running toward Tail while gripping his sword.
Tail watches Linus’s advance; he was pleased, knowing Linus’s strength.
"You should have stayed away, Linus."
He responds, bracing himself for the impact.
Linus leaps, his sword raised, in a swift and precise motion, slicing through the air between them. Tail, with sharp reflexes, dodges to the side, feeling the blade pass close to his face. The deep gash on the ground makes it clear that the strike was no joke.
