chapter 3: Pure Bliss

Emily you have been beaming with joy since you return from school yesterday. What did I miss? What behind your happiness? My mom asked.

I quickly glanced at my mom and blinked severally. I yawned and stretch my body on the couch

"It Mira "was all I could say. My mom gave me a confused look , who? She asked .

"My new friend mom, the girl I that walked me home the other day"I said.

"Oh right Mira, but are you not supposed to be on your way to school ".my mom question snapped me back to reality and I suddenly remember that I was supposed to be in school ; I quickly grabbed my stuff and hurried out the door. As I rushed to school I managed to sneak in before the bell rang , and I saw Mira looking around for me , I waved my hands to catch her eyes.she hurried towards me and grabbed my hands expressing her relief, telling me she was about me.

" Today's match up the FBL and the cowboys head to head basketball game is today at 2pm". she held me close keeping me securely to our seat.she brought out a friendship neckless and gave it to me, a first of me, no one had given me a gift like that before.

" Emily would be be my favorite person and also my bestie "she said. I was overwhelmed with emotions, unsure if to cry or smile but I stammer out a "yes" and gave her a hug.we pulled out smiling at each other, I snif my nose and stood up. She asked me where I was headed to and I replied I was going to the restroom, Mira wanted to accompany me but I instead on going alone so she agreed to stay back.

"I heard a voice behind me saying ,"you are cute " so I turned around to see Who it was, and it was Andrew. Andrew grabbed my hands, and swept my hair back and I want left speechless , my heart was racing in excitement. He leaned in to kiss me , but I snapped back to reality, pushed him then I hurriedly ran into the class.

"What's up with you Mira asked looking at me".I couldn't tell Mira about what happened with Andrew, so I made up lie about seeing a bug in the girls bedroom to avoid upsetting her. She laughed hardly and tease me since then she started calling scare baby.

It was time for the basketball game I and Mira rushed into the hall to grab seat in the front row.Immersed in the excitement of the game, Mira and I were loudly cheering on our favorite team, when I caught Andrew's eye on me. Trying to play it cool, I pretended to be completely absorbed in the game, hoping to avoid any awkwardness or distraction from the thrilling action on the court.

Mira noticed my expression change and asked if I was okay watching the game, so she suggested we leave and go to class, and I agreed, welcoming the excuse to escape the awkwardness. So we went to class as we sat in silence, Mira was busy on her phone, I curiosity got the better of me and I asked her why she seemed to dislike Andrew. She looked at me and dropped her phone.

"Emily I don't really want to talk about it but all you have to know is that Andrew is my ex " she said.I was surprised in hearing what Mira said and how was i going to tell her that her ex has a crush on me. I was lost in my thought and I couldn't believe this was happening to me right now.

Soon as the basketball game was over the FBL team won and everyone was happy, I insisted on Mira to come over for dinner since my mom wants to see her, so she agreed to it. Mira and I decided to make our Friday evening, enjoying some fun , knowing that during weekends she would be tied up with personal stuff at her house.

After our fun outing we headed to my place for dinner , where we chatted with my mom about various things and she Invited mira to come back for dinner another day. After dinner Mira prepared to take off her leave and we planned on seeing each other on Monday.
