Chapter 65: Entrance Exam (5)

In another space the performance of another examiner was also surprising.

He had a gloomy-looking appearance with shoulder-length black hair partially covering his eyes.

Unlike most contestants who would usually immediately summon their contracts or unsheathe their weapons to prepare for battle, he began to…strip off all of his clothes.

Butt clenching in nervousness he began to sprint across the bridge as a certain unmentionable body part flapped in the wind.

He was quite fast and managed to avoid running into the majority of the white-grade beasts.

When he occasionally did run into one, he did not choose to fight due to being weaponless, he would instead clench his butt-cheeks as hard as possible before reappearing in a flash of pink spiritual power at the maximum point his eyes could see on the bridge.

Clearly, this was another student who had already awakened a gift. However, there were obviously limitations on the number of times he could use it. Especially, since the colour of his spiritual power indicated he was still at 1-star.

When he could finally see the end, his nose had already started to bleed from over-exertion.

"Haaa….. Haaaa… I would have maybe just dodged some of the earlier attacks instead of teleporting if I knew this bridge was so damn long."

A giant tentacle of a orange-grade creature far stronger than him began to hurtle towards him.

"Haaa… they don't even want to give us 1-stars a chance." But despite his words, his expression was calm. He could already see the exit.

He emptied all of his remaining spiritual power to appear on the small body of land in the distance. And then fainted.

------------------

"Ugh!" Kain was waiting near the stone archway for Bridge to exit when his vision was suddenly assaulted by a naked man lying on the ground. Thankfully he was face down. However, he could see a pool of blood spilling out from the front of his and spreading around the ground.

"Ahhhh!" There were shocked screams from some individuals also waiting around, likely for their own friends who had entered.

Thankfully for the passed-out applicant though, there was no longer any line, so less than 50 students were waiting by the gate. Most had left in grief after failing to pass or to immediately head off to try and make either the Supernova or First Celestial Academy exams taking place soon.

Thankfully, Kain doesn't have to worry about trying to enter another top 5 college.

Seeing that nobody else was stepping forward to help, Kain decided to call the green-haired senior he was familiar with to examine the student.

After the naked boy was covered and removed from the area to undergo a medical examination, the surroundings returned to their previous calm.

There were currently still thousands of students inside the relic trying to pass the test and another would be eliminated every few seconds.

With each passing second Kain wasn't sure if he should be anxious that Bridge had not passed yet, or if he should be happy that he hadn't been eliminated yet.

'Come on, Bridge!'

A scene so similar to the affinity ceremony, but now their roles were reversed.

------------------

The moment Bridge entered the relic he knew it would not be as easy as the teacher described.

However, he had trained and prepared intensely for this very test for months.

Not to mention all of the hours, resources, and money the Wolfblood Dojo invested into him.

He knows that it wasn't purely out of the goodness of their heart. He needs to enter a top 5 college so that it validates their training program and their investment pays off.

After entering he released his initial contract, Lady. She was much larger now than when they first met.

She would have been large enough to support a lighter contractor if she was not bound to the heavy Bridge.

Thankfully, the dojo had already analyzed Bridge's weaknesses and knew that his lack of speed was a problem.

Therefore, to combat this in a short time they had also equipped him with an enchanted light armour that, when injected with spiritual power, would halve his weight while decreasing his wind resistance.

It was one of 3 armours prepared by the dojo in the space ring so that he could deal with a variety of scenarios.

After activating the armour, Bridge boarded Lady before she sped off at full speed across the bridge.

As a Huricanine known for their speed, none of the spiritual creatures even got close to them until towards the end of the rope bridge. That also happened to be when Bridge's spiritual power was beginning to bottom out and the lightening effects of the armour were fading.

Whimper

Lady could no longer support his immense weight and her legs began to shake. Bridge immediately jumped off while patting Lady to thank her for her hard work.

They had managed to cross the majority of the bridge without having to fight, now that they could see the exit in the distance, he would need to fight the rest of the way on foot.

Bridge removed a heavy sword from the space ring.

Thankfully, he had gone hunting with a few of the trainers in preparation for the exam. However, those were all land-based spiritual creatures, he wasn't used to fighting on water against fins and tentacles.

He cut off a tentacle from a red-grade creature reaching toward him and began to steadily move his way forward, sending out another heavy swing of his sword with each step.

"Ha… Ha…Ha…" Looking behind Bridge there was a long line of corpses and chopped-off body parts.

He could finally see the end. He stepped carefully toward the end of the bridge; he didn't see any more spiritual creatures moving towards him.

Thwack

"Aooooo!!"

Bridge was thrown into the water by a heavy blow. He could hear Lady screaming in fear for him as a tentacle wrapped around his ankle and tried to drag him deeper into the water.
