Soul Treasure.

"So what should I wish for?" Ace asked, pondering about the most valuable thing he could ask for from him.

'Hmm ~ I don't really have a particular thing in mind.'

'Let me change my thinking direction, what is something that I don't have, but he has — of course it can't be too costly.'

'Ah ~ The most important thing should be knowledge.'

He was from a noble family, so he was bound to have lots of knowledge about bestowal.

'But what knowledge should I ask for?'

'I shouldn't be greedy and ask for something I can't use right now, I should ask for something I urgently need,'

Ace currently desired three things right now;

1.

A way hide the fact that he was a transmigrator.

2.

The knowledge of what meridians are and by extension learning how to use it to gain access to mana.

3.

A way to detect warriors with concealed Vitality.

Their importance corresponded with the number—with one being the most urgently needed and three being the least needed.

It was obvious which one he would pick.

Ace drifted out of his thoughts, resting his previously unfocused gaze on the ginger–haired student opposite him — he had made up his mind.

"In exchange for what you asked of me earlier, I would like an artifact protects and conceals me from any harm soul related like mind reading, curses, e.t.c."

Ace stated, subtly avoiding stating the main reason he wanted something like that to avoid suspision —after all it would be quite embarrassing if he got killed in his first week arriving at Culmen.

He looked at Ace with an indescribable expression on his face. He said in his usual monotone voice.

"A soul protecting treasure! What the hell do you need that for?"

Ace heart skipped a beat.

'Why is he asking that? Has he caught onto me? Was I too obvious? Are soul related treasures too easily liked to reincarnation?'

The ravings of anxiety gnawed on his soul as he struggled to come up with an answer.

"Does it matter? It's you who's giving me an offer, you can always go and ask someone else for this."

Ace panicked and said, admist the pounding of his anxious heart.

He erupted.

"Damn right I will! they are other people there who can fuffil my request at a much cheaper price than a SOUL TREASURE! Do you know how much a soul treasure is?Don't think highly of yourself, I just picked you because you were the closest one to the holy maiden."

He was right to be angry.

Soul treasures were one mysterious wonders of the world.

They were metaphysical objects that were capable of existing in every layer of reality.

The generation of soul treasures were sporadic and could not be predicted, making them rare to encounter.

The average noble family struggled to procure even one.

The mere thought of trading a precious soul treasure for something so trivial brought a surge of anger to the calmest of minds.

Despite the furious expression on his face, Ace was relieved.

relieved that the purpose of him asking for a soul treasure eluded the mind of the ginger–haired student.

Now free from the ramblings of paranoia that clouded his mind.

Ace was able to craft a proper response.

"Woah! ~ calm down, I didn't know a soul treasure was that expensive, I just recently got into the the academy okay, I don't even know the currency bestowed use." Ace said in an attempt to de–escalate the situation.

He looked at Ace speechless, his mouth opened and closed multiple times before he took a deep sigh and sat back down on his seat.

"To think I lost control of my emotions because of this fool."

He muttered under his breath, his voice barely audible from were Ace was seated.
