Elliot was on his bed that evening and started having thoughts of the experience he had through today. What he saw today wasn't fake, that meant the cave was real and if it was, that meant that everything in the diary was real, the societies, the technologies, the monsters, everything was real and it is linked to the dream somehow because he saw the hill. The dream tried to warn him of something that has to do with the book but what? he couldn't put his finger on it. This made Elliot uneasy. The dream wasn't an ordinary dream. He started to think that the dream was a warning of some certain calamity waiting to happen. He didn't want anything to happen to him nor his parents. He could still remember the cold words of the red eyes. He couldn't tell his parents about them leaving because they just got here. Elliot did not know what to do because whatever he's facing now might not come out in a good result, he thought of staying in the cabin for the rest of summer without coming out but his parents won't let him and what if staying in the house two four seven was a bad idea? What will happen can be inevitable. Mrs Jasmine came into his room "what do you want for dinner? Is it… are you okay?" She asked with some air of seriousness on her face. Elliot was looking down. She drew closer to feel his neck. "I am fine, just a little tired," he said and tried to lighten up. She sat beside him "I always sensed that you were not yourself ever since we came here, are you sure you don't like this place, what is bugging you,is there anything you you're not telling me?" "No no, I like this place it's what I asked for didn't I," said Elliot trying to lighten up. "Okay. I just hope we made the right choice about location for this vacation," said Mrs Jasmine in relief. "this place is great mom," he said smiling. "Great,so is it custard right?," she asked and he nodded in agreement. Mrs Jasmine went out of the room. Elliot's mood swung back to worries. Elliot thought maybe it was an illusion, his mind playing tricks on him. Perhaps, he was just overthinking. With this deliberate thought Elliot became calmer, he wouldn't let some stupid nightmare get in the way of his great moment because if he over thinks it ,he may make his mom think otherwise of what he said about coming here. He took a breath and he left his room to go to dinner. Elliot was eating his custard in the dining, his mom was sipping her tea on the sofa. Then Mr James came inside and hung his coat on the coat rack. "Well I've settled the dealers," said Mr James and looked at Elliot. "l heard that tomorrow on there will be curricular activities you can participate in." "Like what?" asked Elliot. "You know, maybe games, you'll find out for yourself tomorrow," Mr James stretched "I guess I want to take a nap, good night," he went to his room a slept. Elliot went right back to bed,so did Mrs Jasmine. Elliot had a bunk bed in his room so he slept at the top while his luggage was at the bottom. It didn't take long for him to fall into a deep sleep. It was midnight and full moon was at the top of the cabin and a certain gush of wind started blowing around the cabin. Then the moonlight reflected through Elliot's window on his face. Then something peculiar happened. The moonlight formed a luminescent humming bird. The bird starred flying vigorously and poking Elliot's head. Elliot woke up but still sleepy until the bird stopped and dragged his collar till he fell off his bed and landed with a big thud. He became wide awake but luckily his parents were still sleeping. Elliot groaned in pain and looked up saw a luminescent bird and he couldn't believe his eyes"what da?" The bird zoomed and started to drag his collar and Elliot stood up. The bird let him to go and went through his bedroom door through the keyhole and it slid open. Elliot stood still he didn't know what to do, should he follow it or...he was just confused. The bird flew back and dragged his collar again. Elliot thought that the bird wanted to show him something important by the way it dragged his collar, after a struggle of thought he summoned courage and reluctantly followed it. The bird went through the keyhole of the door leading outside and it slid open. Elliot was about to go but halted and turned to his parents room, his parents, ack! Elliot took a breath and continues to follow the bird. They reached a pathway which Elliot recognized where he was going. They reached the slope leading to the cave. Elliot stopped, his anxiety levels started to rise. He gazed at the cave in horror, the moon was above it. The bird flew to his face and the bird reached for the cave and entered inside. Elliot paused. He was scared of that cave, what was it leading him to? The bird flew back and dragged his collar. To his surprise, it pulled his whole weight until he was inside the cave. Elliot followed the bird, aside the little light the bird was emitting, the rest was darkness. He walked for a while to an extent and the bird faded away. It was now pitch black, fear griped Elliot and his face was filled with terror. All of a sudden, torchlights came on, Elliot jumped and he realized he was in an old passage at the beginning and end of the tunnel. Elliot looked both side he didn't know what lies behind the darkness. He breathed in "you can do this, you can do this, just retrace my steps," he calmed himself down and walked reluctantly and scared through the hallway, griping his heart and looking at all angles at all times till he reached the end of the tunnel to meet another part of the cave but this time, the cave was made of shiny black rocks and a narrow pathway leading to yet another cave. Now, he was astonished, he saw an inscription on the wall which says 'after a sacrifice here he stays'. Elliot looked at it and the first thing that came to his mind was "what sacrifice?". Then he heard rumbling. The tiny rocks under him started vibrating and floating. He turned around and started walking back as though he felt where the rumbling came from. All of a sudden as if in slow motion as giant cybernetic beetle, the size of a double decker bus broke out of a wall above him. His legs took him and ran before the beetle landed. He ran for his dear life, the beetle chased him with great speed reached a narrow pathway which was above a deep place to darkness, the beetle followed him. As Elliot ran he felt the ground jolted, he knew that that the beetle joined him on the bridge. "No no no," Elliot said as he ran as fast as he could. The pathway could not support the weight of the beetle and himself, so the end of the pathway broke when Elliot was almost at the other side. Elliot and the beetle fell. Elliot got a shock as he fell, could this be the fate he was to face? He watched as the image of the of the broken pathway got smaller and smaller. He didn't believe it. He was going to face death for the first time and the last. How will his parents feel if he turned out missing? All his life being shunned down by others because he was not considered normal all comes to a sticky end just because he listened to a bird. Elliot shed a tear which formed a drop which floated while falling down. He closed his eyes waiting for what was meant to happen to happen.
