The Lingering Ghost

When she said the word "kill," the old lady's body froze, and a cold sweat instantly broke out. In all her years, she had never been so close to death. She could feel that the little girl in front of her was serious; she really intended to kill her.

"We're here to complete a mission, not to kill anyone," Kaguya said, patting Black Zetsu on the head with a gentle smile.

"Oh." Black Zetsu withdrew her gaze, holding onto Kaguya's clothes without saying another word.

"Sorry about that," Kaguya said, a faint smile on her lips. "We were a bit rude just now, but please entrust us with this mission. We will definitely complete it for you."

After Kaguya spoke, the old lady felt the tension in the air ease, and she couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. She suddenly felt that she might have misjudged them.

Although they hadn't shown their strength, the old lady's years of experience told her that these two girls were definitely not ordinary individuals.

What concerned her more was that Kaguya possessed a terrifying power within her, a power the old lady had encountered not long ago. Could there be a connection between the two?

Watching the two girls leave, the old lady fell into deep thought.

"Do we really have to wear these?" Black Zetsu asked curiously, fiddling with the cat ear headband in her hands.

"Yes, let's wear them," Kaguya replied. Initially, she didn't want to wear them, thinking it would be easier just to rush in. But on second thought, she didn't want to miss the sight of Black Zetsu wearing the cat ears.

"Oh." Black Zetsu's eyelashes fluttered slightly as she gently replied, placing the cat ear headband on her head.

Kaguya's eyes lit up instantly—it was simply too cute!

Golden twin tails hung down on both sides, adorned with small pink and light green flowers. Her skin was fair and smooth, her big eyes were bright and clear, and her nose was delicate and petite. Her lips were rosy and glossy, giving her a very adorable look. The cat ear headband on her head made the little blonde twin-tailed girl even more endearing.

"Is this okay now?" Black Zetsu asked, adjusting the cat ears on her head.

"Yes." Kaguya felt like she was about to drool.

Indeed, twin-tailed cat ear lolis are the best!

According to the information, there was a castle deep in the mountains inhabited by countless cats, essentially a town made up of cats. Their target was inside this castle.

The castle wasn't very far from their location, especially considering how quickly they could fly.

Since Black Zetsu couldn't fly, Kaguya held her in her arms. The little girl's body was very light and soft, like a large stuffed animal.

"We're here."

Kaguya's eyes brightened as she spotted the tall cat-shaped castle standing in the forest, giving the illusion of being in a fantasy world.

Lightly touching down, Kaguya gracefully landed on the ground, releasing the little girl from her arms and gazing into the distance.

"Let's go."

Kaguya took the little girl's hand and prepared to head toward the distant castle.

Just then, a sudden sound rang out. Numerous kunai and shurikens flew out from the bushes, raining down on the two girls like a storm.

The clattering sounds echoed like popping beans as the overwhelming barrage of kunai and shurikens hit the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust and instantly filling the air with smoke.

The two girls were immediately enveloped in a cloud of dust.

After the sound of "swish swish swish," three ninjas appeared. They wore various masks and tight-fitting outfits and carried short swords on their backs, typical attire for the Anbu.

"The mission is complete, prepare to retrieve the bodies," one of the Anbu ninjas said gravely.

"Yes," the other two ninjas replied, moving toward where the dust was gradually settling.

"What?" As they got halfway there, they froze, stunned by the scene before them.

Standing in the same spot were two stunningly beautiful girls, one taller and one shorter, surrounded by kunai and shuriken stuck in the ground. They were unharmed and showed no sign of panic, only a hint of disdain.

The three Anbu ninjas exchanged glances. Even a fool could see that these two girls were not to be underestimated. They quickly turned to retreat.

But it was too late. Black Zetsu frowned, and a glint of coldness flashed in her beautiful eyes as she raised her flawless white arm, aiming at the fleeing Anbu.

The three ninjas trembled, their pupils constricted. For some reason, looking at this pretty little girl filled them with a tremendous sense of danger.

From the palm of her white hand emerged three slender leaves, shooting toward the Anbu in the air like lightning.

"Wood Style: Leaf Jutsu"

"Pop pop pop"

Blood sprayed.

The three masked Anbu fell like kites with cut strings, crashing heavily to the ground. Each had a green leaf pierced through their hearts, blood spurting from the wounds, clearly not going to survive.

If you looked closely, you would notice that these three leaves resembled those that Black Zetsu used to envelop herself in the past.

Kaguya had initially planned to leave one alive for questioning but found Black Zetsu had killed them all in an instant. Despite Black Zetsu's usual cute and gentle demeanor, she showed no mercy to anyone but Kaguya.

Kaguya was about to complain, but when she saw the little girl's adorable, proud smile, she couldn't bring herself to do so.

Oh well, they were just small fry anyway; dead is dead.

Besides, there's still a big fish.

Kaguya's lips curled into a smile as she looked at the bushes nearby, saying with a faint smile, "Come out, no need to hide, Lord Danzo."

After a moment of rustling, a middle-aged man emerged from the bushes. His hair was disheveled, and he wore a forehead protector. His sharp eyebrows and starry eyes gave him a somewhat handsome appearance, with the two intersecting scars on his chin particularly noticeable.

Indeed, it was Danzo.
