Dark History

The sight of that snow-white skin, as smooth and flawless as jade, emanated a tempting fragrance that was utterly captivating.

Kaguya's beautiful large eyes suddenly widened, and she froze in place, utterly stunned. She never expected Kurome to make such a move, something that was completely beyond her imagination.

Kaguya felt a bit dazed, scratching her silvery hair with her soft white hand and knocking on her head with her fingers, wondering if she was hallucinating due to being too tired recently.

Suddenly, Kaguya seemed to recall something and immediately stiffened. Could it be because of last time...?

This was incredibly awkward.

Kaguya coughed lightly a few times and walked over, reaching out to pull the blanket over Kurome.

At that moment, the door was suddenly pushed open, and two girls walked in.

"How is your friend doing?"

"Hey, hey, you perverts should leave!"

The moment Mine entered the room, she let out a high-pitched scream, her voice suddenly rising by eight octaves. Kaguya felt as if her eardrums were about to burst.

"You... You two are actually doing something like this here?" Mine's pale fingers trembled as she pointed at Kaguya, her expression one of utter disbelief, her beautiful eyes wide open.

"Ahem," Kaguya cleared her throat twice and said, "Don't misunderstand, it's not what you think."

With a deafening "bang," the door was slammed shut before Kaguya could finish explaining.

This misunderstanding was getting out of hand.

Kaguya's mouth involuntarily twitched a few times.

When Kaguya came out to have breakfast, the atmosphere seemed a bit awkward. Mine looked at Kaguya with disdain, as if she had seen something disgusting. When Kaguya looked over, Mine huffed and turned her head away.

Leone, on the other hand, appeared relatively normal, with no unusual expressions on her face. But that was the strangest part—under normal circumstances, with Leone's lively personality, she would have been chatting endlessly by now. Her current silence was entirely out of character.

And why did the corners of her mouth seem to twitch upward involuntarily?

"If you want to laugh, just go ahead and laugh; there's no need to hold it in," Kaguya sighed helplessly.

"Hahahaha!" Leone burst into laughter, clutching her stomach, tears nearly streaming from her eyes as she kicked her legs in mirth.

"What's so funny?" Kaguya muttered, her temple throbbing.

"Seeing the embarrassed look on your face," Leone said between gasps, "it just cracks me up."

How low is your threshold for humor? Kaguya couldn't help but think. And really, is it right to find joy in someone else's discomfort?

"Hmph, some princess you are, and to think you have such terrible taste," Mine sneered as she wiped her Teigu sniper rifle with a handkerchief.

Ignoring the two's taunts, Kaguya simply walked over to the table and sat down. The breakfast laid out was neither lavish nor overly simple—fragrant bread, milk, fried eggs, and a sausage. It seemed freshly made, exuding a rich aroma.

"Well then, I won't be polite," Kaguya said as she grabbed the bread and picked up a cup of milk. After not eating for so long, she was starting to feel quite hungry.

"Are all Imperial princesses this shameless?" Mine snapped, glaring at Kaguya. "We didn't exactly invite you to breakfast."

"Maybe they are," Kaguya said with a playful smile, taking a bite of her sausage. "Since I'm the only Imperial princess, though, I guess you'd have to ask me. You're such a child; you don't even know something as simple as that." She then sighed theatrically.

"You're the child!"

Mine, clearly sensitive to being called small, glared daggers at Kaguya, puffing up angrily.

"Children should drink more milk," Kaguya said with a smile, wagging her finger. "Otherwise, one day, people might not be able to tell the difference between your chest and your back. A short and flat figure would be truly pitiful." Kaguya looked at Mine with a concerned expression, as if she were genuinely worried about her.

"What did you say?"

Mine exploded with rage, jumping to her feet and pointing her sniper rifle at Kaguya, as if ready to blow her head off any second.

"Stop it," Leone said, calming Mine down before turning to Kaguya. "Where's your friend? Isn't she coming down for breakfast?"

"She's not feeling well right now; she'll be down later," Kaguya replied, holding the milk in both hands and taking a sip.

I bet she's still hiding under the covers in embarrassment. After all, that was a pretty humiliating situation, especially with outsiders witnessing it. Knowing her personality, it's surprising she hasn't killed someone to silence them yet.

"Is that so?" Leone hesitated for a moment as if she wanted to say something, then finally spoke up, "Your friend looks a lot like someone I know. Can you tell me who she is?"

"Her identity?" Kaguya asked curiously, setting down the milk.

"It might be a bit presumptuous of me to ask," Leone said with a sheepish smile, scratching her head, "so if it's difficult, you don't have to answer."

"It's no trouble at all," Kaguya said with a smile. "It's not a secret. Her name is Kurome."

"Kurome?" Leone's eyes narrowed.

"Yes, she's Kurome," Kaguya replied with a smile. "You might have heard of her. She used to be a member of the Imperial Army and is also the younger sister of Akame."

"That person?" Mine exclaimed in shock, her expression one of disbelief.

After all, they had fought her before. Night Raid and the Imperial Army had clashed numerous times in the past, sometimes several times a month. Kurome's formidable strength had left a deep impression on them, and only Akame among the Night Raid members could defeat her. But for some reason, Kurome had mysteriously disappeared for a while, as if she had vanished into thin air.

Now they finally knew that Kurome had left the Imperial Army and joined the Imperial Princess, which was quite a surprise to them.

As they spoke, a girl with shoulder-length black hair walked down the stairs. She was beautiful, with bright eyes and white teeth, a petite yet shapely figure. She was, indeed, Kurome.
