In the blood-colored space, a bizarre scene was unfolding—a silver-haired girl of breathtaking beauty methodically drove her sword into the body of a massive, crucified man. Crimson blood splattered in every direction. In no time, the man resembled a human pincushion, pierced by swords of various shapes and sizes.
Despite this, the girl showed no signs of stopping. She continued searching for new places to stab, each strike deliberate, her stunning face spattered with blood, lending her an eerily seductive air.
Kaido hung on the cross, drenched in blood, his body riddled with wounds. Scarlet liquid streamed endlessly from him, dripping from the black blades with a steady drip drip.
"Is this your limit?" the silver-haired girl sneered, looking down at Kaido like a queen surveying a fallen beast. "So this is all the mighty Kaido of the Beasts amounts to? What a disappointment. I thought you'd last longer."
With a huff, Kaguya turned and walked away. As her foot stepped out, the world of Tsukuyomi shattered like a mirror.
On the pirate ship, Kaido's pupils shrank violently. His face went pale, and cold sweat drenched his back. With a pained groan, he collapsed to his knees.
What just happened?
Members of the Beasts Pirates stared in stunned silence, eyes wide, jaws slack, unable to comprehend the scene before them.
Kaido, who moments ago was locked in fierce combat, had suddenly frozen. A look of horror crossed his face—and then, without warning, he dropped to his knees.
No one had ever seen such a strange sight.
Kaido's eyes were empty, his pupils dilated. He looked dazed, completely motionless, like he'd turned to stone.
"Did I break you already?" Kaguya walked over, her voice icy. "What a useless piece of trash."
But in the next instant, Kaido suddenly sprang up. In a flash, he charged at Kaguya, swinging a massive fist at her.
With a cruel grin, he bellowed, "You think that was enough to defeat me? You're too naive. Now die!"
Kaguya raised her head, smiling brightly. "The naive one is you."
Kaido's eyes widened in alarm.
No good.
Somehow, Kaguya was already in front of him. Her delicate white hand pressed against his chest.
"Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion."
The moment the words left her lips, a brilliant golden light erupted from Kaido's back. His famously indestructible body crumpled like paper in the face of her attack.
Spurt.
Kaido shot backward like a cannonball, eyes bulging. A sweet taste rose in his throat as he vomited a mouthful of blood.
But it wasn't over yet.
With a flash of white, Kaguya appeared beside him. She whispered into his ear, "I'm bored of playing. Now, go die."
She swung her arm. Around Kaido, several pitch-black Truth-Seeking Orbs materialized and began to glow with blinding light.
BOOM BOOM BOOM
A deafening explosion echoed through the sky. Amid the dazzling light, a mushroom cloud slowly rose, and a scorching shockwave roared outward like a tsunami, tearing through everything in its path. The surrounding pirate ships were instantly shredded to pieces.
As the intense light gradually faded, the onlookers cautiously opened their eyes and stared in shock at what was left of the Beasts Pirates. The sea was littered with ship debris and mangled corpses.
They had only survived because their ship had been farther away.
Kaido of the Beasts was dead.
The surviving members of the Beasts Pirates stared wide-eyed, unable to believe what they were seeing. In their minds, Kaido was the world's strongest creature—a peerless force even Whitebeard had to take seriously.
And yet, he had been killed so easily?
As they turned their eyes back to the silver-haired girl, a long-forgotten legend from twenty years ago resurfaced.
In an era dominated by powerful figures, one person had emerged from nowhere, defeating several Navy Admirals in succession. She single-handedly killed Big Mom, bested Kaido, forced back Whitebeard, and even Red-Haired Shanks owed her a favor.
A being said to surpass even the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger.
Many of them had believed that to be a myth. But now—they realized it was true.
The silver-haired girl standing atop the broken deck turned and smiled sweetly. "Looks like a few slipped through the net."
Their blood ran cold.
"Ahhh! Don't kill me! Don't kill me!"
One pirate turned to flee in terror, but before he could take more than a few steps, a black-and-red sword sliced through his neck. His head rolled to the side as blood sprayed, and he crumpled to the ground.
Kaguya flicked her arm. The blood beaded on the sword and scattered to the ground, returning to its gleaming luster.
The harvest this time was substantial. Perhaps because of Kaido's fondness for Devil Fruits, his crew had many ability users. A quick count revealed over thirty of them, including even low-level members.
Unfortunately, most of them had eaten artificial Devil Fruits. The essence of these fake fruits was inferior—perhaps only one-tenth as potent as a real one.
Still, for Kaguya, it was better than nothing.
She turned and walked toward Kid, who lay slumped against a shattered section of the ship. His survival amid that blast was sheer luck—he truly had the tenacity of a cockroach.
"Hey. You dead or what?" Kaguya nudged him with her foot, speaking without a trace of courtesy.
"Cough… cough…" Kid clutched his stomach and coughed violently. He looked up weakly. "Did you… come to save me?"
"What made you think I came to save you?" Kaguya sneered.
Kid blinked. "Then you—?"
Kaguya smiled faintly. "I came to take the Devil Fruit inside you."
With that, her arm plunged into Kid's abdomen.
...
A few days later, the news of the Beasts Pirates being attacked spread quickly. Out on the vast ocean, many people discovered the wreckage of their ships and bodies drifting in the sea. After careful identification, the corpses were confirmed to be members of the Beasts Pirates.
This news caused an uproar. Someone had dared to assault the Beasts Pirates? That was tantamount to seeking death.
Kaido of the Beasts was one of the Three Emperors, alongside Red-Haired Shanks and Whitebeard. His strength was undeniable. Violent and moody, he was known to be ruthless and vengeful. Anyone who dared provoke him was usually annihilated completely.
Several pirate crews had already been wiped out by him as living examples.
This reality poured cold water on those pirates eager to challenge the Emperors. The difference in power was not something courage alone could overcome.
Kaguya was determined to reach the Sabaody Archipelago quickly. She wanted to use Yomi no Hirazaka, but the Grand Line seemed to be saturated with mysterious energy that disrupted Earth's magnetic field and spatial forces. Short-distance teleportation was manageable, but long-distance jumps risked deviation.
Spatial movement was a precise ability—a small miscalculation could land her in some random alley or deserted place. It would waste more time, so she decided flying was more reliable.
However, Kaguya suddenly remembered a method: using the undercurrents beneath the Grand Line. She had once encountered such a current and was swept all the way to the East Blue.
These oceanic currents were fast—sometimes even faster than flight. Riding the undercurrent could reduce travel time significantly.
Moreover, she had another stop to make: Fishman Island. If her memory was right, there were a few Devil Fruit users there as well.
Since it was along the way, she might as well gather those fruits now to avoid future trouble.
With that in mind, Kaguya dove into the sea, splashing up a massive wave.
With the help of the turbulent currents, her speed increased dramatically. Like a dashing salted fish, she raced toward the dark depths of the ocean.
Meanwhile, on Fishman Island—
"Hahaha! Once we break through the palace, all of Fishman Island will be ours!" A fishman wearing a pink hat, scarf, and long coat bared his jagged teeth in laughter.
This was Hody Jones, captain of the New Fishman Pirates. Around him stood other members of the crew.
"Hmph, no matter how hard they resist, it's futile," said Dosun, who carried a massive warhammer. "They're just struggling before death."
The shifty-eyed Vander Decken strolled up with a crooked gait. "Just remember—Princess Shirahoshi belongs to me. Once we take the palace, you must guarantee her safety."
"No need for you to remind us," Hody snorted coldly. He turned and shouted, "Men, attack!"
"Yes!"
With a tidal roar of cheers, the New Fishman Pirates surged forward like a flood, charging toward the palace.
Inside the palace—
"Your Majesty, bad news!" The Left Minister rushed in, drenched in sweat. "The pirate crew has launched a full assault and is heading for the palace. What should we do?"
"Has it come to this?" King Neptune's face was grim. He sighed and said, "Otohime... I wonder if your spirit in the heavens would blame me, seeing Fish-Man Island in this state."
"Your Majesty, now isn't the time to be dwelling on that," said the Right Minister, stepping forward and speaking firmly. "They are a group of ruthless criminals. They will not spare us. Instead of waiting to be slaughtered, we should take the initiative and fight. At least that way, we can protect you and the princess."
"It seems that's our only option," Neptune rose to his feet, eyes sharp. "Everyone, we are at the brink of life and death. I ask you all to stand with me and fight bravely!"
"Yes!"
The gates of the royal palace suddenly burst open, and a large number of soldiers poured out to clash with the pirates outside. At first, the well-equipped royal guard gained a slight upper hand, but the pirates' overwhelming numbers quickly shifted the tide.
With the arrival of Hody Jones and the New Fish-Man Pirates, the battle turned completely one-sided.
"So this is the king?" Hody sneered, stepping on Neptune and grabbing him by the hair. "What a disgrace. With a king like this, no wonder Ryugu Kingdom is so weak."
"Do you intend to destroy Fish-Man Island?" Neptune, his face bloodied, asked hoarsely.
"Destroy it?" Hody let out a mad laugh, his eyes flashing with malice. "On the contrary, I'm giving Fish-Man Island new life."
"You're leading it to ruin," Neptune growled, teeth clenched.
Hody's face twisted with rage, and he viciously kicked Neptune. "That's not something a traitor to the Fish-Man race has the right to say!"
Suddenly, a rumble echoed in the distance. Neptune, bruised and battered, turned pale. "Shirahoshi! What are you doing? Don't hurt her! She's innocent!"
"Innocent?" Hody's eyes gleamed with cruelty. "No one in the royal palace is innocent."
With a deafening crash, the crumbling Hard-Shell Tower finally collapsed. As the dust settled, a beautiful figure was revealed.
She had long pink hair, crystal-clear eyes, and skin so smooth it looked like water would bead on contact. Her body was gracefully curvaceous, and a glimpse of soft, fair skin peeked out.
She was none other than the princess of Fish-Man Island—Shirahoshi.
"Haha, Shirahoshi! You finally came out! This is great!" Vander Decken danced with joy, his eyes glowing like light bulbs. "Be my wife, my sweet darling!"
Shirahoshi bit her lip, her delicate face wrinkled with distress. Her eyes welled up with tears like a misty veil. Finally, she burst into sobs.
"H-Hey, don't cry!" Vander Decken flailed nervously. "If you keep crying, I'll kill you!"
Just then, a cold voice suddenly rang out.
"Since when did Fish-Man Island become a place for bottom-feeders like you to seize?"
"Who's there?!"
Hody and his gang quickly turned toward the voice. Atop the Hard-Shell Tower stood a breathtaking silver-haired girl, her silky locks fluttering in the wind.
