EPS 29 The destruction of Spring Colony

That morning, the atmosphere in Spring Colony was filled with inevitable tension. Everyone knew that their time was running out, and action had to be taken immediately before the Horned Serpent threat worsened. Kreig stood in the centre of the field, his voice firm and calm despite the gravity of the situation.

'We must move quickly,' he said, his gaze fixed on the assembled team leaders. 'Yin, Kovacic, you're in charge of fixing the Tanker. Finish it in less than three hours, no more than that.'

Yin nodded firmly, although his face looked weary after the previous battle. 'We will do it as quickly as possible.'

'Primo, Ima, Dann, Natali, Neved, and Dracko, you are the guard team. Make sure no Horned Serpent approaches the camp while we prepare the evacuation,' Kreig continued. 'William and Steven, you will lead the supply team. Make sure the supplies we have are not left behind, because we might not be able to return here.'

After the orders were distributed, Kreig looked at Yin once more. 'Yin, how long do you need?'

Yin answered quickly, 'Probably less than three hours, Kreig. If there are no problems, we can finish it faster.'

Kreig nodded, but his expression showed concern. 'Make sure that happens. We don't have much time. The Horned Serpent is getting out of control.'

Ima came forward and touched Kreig's shoulder, followed by the other leaders one by one. 'I will activate telepathy magic so that we can communicate with each other more easily,' she said softly.

Kreig and the others nodded, while Primo was surprised by Ima's magic ability. With telepathy active, they could all communicate without the need to shout, something very important given the emergency situation.

The sun was getting higher, and everyone was busy with their respective tasks when suddenly there was a rumbling sound in the distance. A large group of Horned Serpents appeared from all directions, their numbers overwhelming and suddenly followed by a surprise attack. Laser fire with incredible speed shot towards the Tanker, and before anyone could react, a huge explosion sounded.

The Tanker was torn apart, and inside, Yin and Kovacic were lost in the flames.

Their agonised screams rang out telepathically, shaking the entire team within earshot. Kreig, who was usually calm, gritted his teeth. 'No...' he muttered, full of frustration. Losing the Tanker meant their hopes of moving on were dashed.

The other leaders began to feel the pressure mounting. Ima, in a soft but clear voice through telepathy, asked, 'What should we do now?'

Kreig sighed heavily before speaking, 'We must leave. Everyone, leave the Spring Colony location now! Assemble and prepare a counterattack formation.'

They all tried to move according to orders, but the Horned Serpents in large numbers surrounded them from all directions. Fighting was unavoidable. Their troops split into groups, each facing relentless attacks.

Ima, with her sacred weapon, a sniper, calmly targeted the Horned Serpent's heads. Her explosion bullets destroyed one by one the approaching enemies. Above her, Natali, who had evolved into a harpy, flew high in the air, giving Ima information about the enemy's position and protecting her from the Horned Serpents that tried to approach.

On the other side, Neved with his light sword and Dracko with his fire axe fought ferociously. They protect each other, destroying the Horned Serpent with brute force. Despite facing attacks from all directions, they stood their ground, fighting back tenaciously.

Primo, though alone, faced the Horned Serpent horde with his experience and expertise. Each attack he launched cut down the Horned Serpents one by one, but the sheer number of enemies overwhelmed him. Even so, he continued to fight relentlessly, trying to control the situation.

Kreig, in a fit of rage, wielded his flaming sword with incredible speed, destroying the approaching Horned Serpent. His emotions were running high after losing Yin and Kovacic, and he could no longer restrain himself. Each slash of his sword unleashed fiery flames, incinerating enemies at a rapid pace.

On the other side, William and Steven, who evolved into centaurs, easily dispatched the Horned Serpents that confronted them. They organised the citizens to evacuate immediately, but the citizens refused to leave and joined the battle instead. With incredible bravery, they helped William and Steven fight off countless enemies.

Ima, who was still busy at her post, shouted telepathically, 'How many more enemies are left?'

Dann, who had evolved into a raptor, replied in a worried tone, 'There are still many of them! Hundreds of Horned Serpents, and I see even bigger ones! There are about seventy-four large ones... and I made sure there was a Dragon Horned Serpent!'

Suddenly, the Dragon Horned Serpent Dann had mentioned shot laser flame particles straight at him. The shocked Dann tried to protect himself with particle shielding magic, but the force of the attack was too great. Dann screamed in pain as he was sent flying far away, his voice echoing through telepathy before being cut off.

Ima, with tears beginning to flow, felt a deep sadness and frustration. 'Dann... he... can't be saved.'

The atmosphere was getting tense. Sadness began to creep into the hearts of all the survivors. They had already lost too many people, and the enemy seemed endless. However, despite the desperate situation, Kreig did not give up.

He sent another telepathic message to everyone, his voice firm despite the traces of sadness. 'This is not the time to give up! I know we've lost a lot, but we're still alive, and as long as we're alive, we can fight back. Gather your strength! We will fight to the end, and we will not lose!'

Combat spirit began to reignite in the hearts of the Spring Colony warriors. They regrouped, ready to face the next wave of attacks. Despite losing their friends, they knew that surviving and protecting others was the top priority.

That tense morning turned into a battlefield filled with blood, fire, and courage.
