Chapter 177 Zeke party Iv

20 MINUTES BEFORE ASHER'S DEATH

Jeremy and Asher were staggering around the silent corridor of Paradise High. Asher was trying to locate his dorm, and seeing the darkness around, he became creeped out.

"Okay, Jimmy, let me put on my phone torch." Quickly, he put it on and began walking side by side with a heavily drunk Jeremy, who kept talking gibberish.

"Rose is so amazing. Why doesn't she love me? Aren't I pretty enough, Asher? But she confessed that she wanted to make me her boyfriend, then why did she abandon me, Asher? Why?" Jeremy lamented.

Asher rolled his eyes. So that was it—his sister ghosted him, and now he was pouring his sorrows onto him. What a good friend he was.

"Okay now, Jeremy, we are almost there."

Then Asher stopped midway. He kept hearing noises—no, whispers—and those voices were familiar. In fact, so familiar.

"I say we should kill her. No one will know it's us anyway, so it's a win-win. She gets to pay for posting the video of you and Ava, and I get my revenge for her picking her nose in what doesn't concern her," the voice explained.

Asher was dumbfounded. Wasn't that Emily's voice? No, it couldn't be. How could Emily—the innocent Emily—be talking about killing someone? And wasn't that her sister she was indirectly talking about?

Oh no, was Rose missing? Not that she ran away…

"Oh, Emily, that's not what I really planned out. I wanna have sex with her first, then record it fully before killing her and dumping her body for the sirens to feast on," the voice concurred, dripping with pure evil and malice.

Emily was shocked at the direction of the conversation. "Sirens? You mean the mermaid creatures that use their voices to hypnotize people?"

"Yeah, Emily, and you know the fun part? There are many in our school's water bodies. So, not everybody here is human. We have vampires, let me say, werewolves and lycanthropes, then the witches, even though we haven't heard from them, and the vicious sirens," the voice revealed.

"Then does that mean you're one of them?" Emily asked.

"Hmm, I won't say yet. We are not close, so I won't reveal anything."

And after the conversation, the two owners of the voices came out of their hiding places, stunning Asher, and he rushed to hide but was blocked by Simon.

"Want to join the party, Asher? And your friend Jeremy—how great of you." Simon's sarcastic tone made Asher flinch. So, if this guy here was Simon, that meant the other guy was Rowan.

"Rowan, we have guests here. Uninvited guests."

Simon's words made Rowan and Emily come out from where they were, and seeing Asher and Jeremy, they frowned.

Emily instantly hid her face, but she realized it was useless after all. Then she let out a dark grin.

"What a pleasant surprise, Asher. We had no idea you wanted to join us. So why don't we finish him? Kill the two of them and blame it on… hmm… perfect Nina Jackson, the wannabe bitch, and her useless cliques."

Emily's cold voice made Asher shudder. How could she be so heartless? Talking about killing her fellow human—where was her humanity, for crying out loud?

"See, Emily, I don't know what game you're playing, but let us go. Jeremy here is sick. He is just recovering from the stunts you guys pulled earlier."

Asher tried explaining, but Simon just came closer and kicked his jaw, making him fall heavily on the ground.

By then, Jeremy had been cleared of the alcohol in his eyes. He looked at the three and shook his head in annoyance.

"It's okay, Asher. They won't dare lay their hands on us if they don't want expulsion. And remember, you're about to be suspended, so you both wanna get expelled? Or worse still, imprisoned?"

Jeremy's eyes twitched with mischief.

Asher began to panic. There was no reasoning with beasts, and those were the people before him now. He could see the coldness in their eyes. And about his sister—had they harmed her? He then began to panic.

"What about Rose? I hope you haven't harmed her yet," Asher asked.

But Rowan came closer. Closer.

The two—Jeremy and Asher—couldn't escape. They were surrounded, and before their eyes, Rowan and Simon began to bring out their daggers, which were already bloody.

"Oh, Asher, remember when you kicked me out of Luna's murder, and that bitch of your sister got in the way? I figured out—won't it be great if I repay you for the embarrassment caused by Rose with blood? Won't that be beautiful?"

Asher instinctively walked back and locked hands with Jeremy, who blocked Asher from Rowan.

"Leave him out of this. Let him go. Take me instead," Jeremy pleaded. He had not fully recovered, but he couldn't let Asher be killed.

"Asher, I will hold them off! Go now and call for help! Now, gooooo!"

Jeremy screamed and kicked Rowan and Simon out of the way, giving Asher time to run. This made Rowan more enraged than ever.

"Finally gonna finish you off, you scholarship student. I think after today, you will officially learn that whenever the elites are talking, you should pass by, because you are just an insignificant frog, so get it, dumbass."

Rowan lunged at Jeremy, who ducked the attack, but Simon came from behind and buried the dagger deep into his side, making him gag out blood from his mouth.

"Ouch, does it hurt? Then take this!"

Rowan overpowered Jeremy's already weak body by kicking him on the head, making the bandages peel off and the cut start bleeding again.

Jeremy scowled in pain and agony. Then Rowan brought out a fork and dug it deep into Jeremy's hands, sinking the edge of the fork into the back of his hands, making him yell painfully.

"Feeling it now? Oh, Jeremy the protector. Your mom sent you here to study and mind your business as a scholarship student in order to become an elite member of society. But guess what? You chose to be stupid and mingle with what doesn't concern you. So you're gonna die today, boy," Simon spat while grinning.

"That Rose, she used me. I hated you all—especially you, Asher."

Simon pointed at Asher, who was back. Apparently, hearing Jeremy's painful cries, he realized that going and coming back—Jimmy would be dead already. So he carried a long iron with him to defend Jimmy.

"Burn in hell, evil motherfuckers!"

And Asher struck the iron at the two guys, and they screamed. Emily, who was watching, wasn't left out—she was lashed heavily, and she screamed in agony. But suddenly, unknown to Asher, Emily's eyes changed to red, and a dagger flew into the air, moving at a fast speed toward Asher. It pierced deeply into his forehead, lodging into his skull, and he fell out the window, landing on the high skyscraper, shattering all his bones.

Jeremy, who was crouched on the ground, began crying.

"Nooo, Asher! No, it can't be! How could you both… Do you realize what you just did? You killed an innocent guy! You despicable beasts, you won't go scot-free, I assure you all—you will die!"

Jeremy was silenced by Rowan's blade. Rowan began stabbing Jimmy, digging the dagger into his stomach while twisting and turning it.

Jeremy screamed insanely, but nothing could be done. Jeremy was also thrown off the building, landing so many meters away.

"Wow, that was refreshing. Now we blame it all on Nina. Meanwhile, about Rose—lock her up in the refrigerator for now. Tomorrow, her torture shall begin," Rowan declared evilly.

Simon smiled, but he realized something. "Won't Rose die before tomorrow morning if she's placed in a refrigerator?" Simon asked.

Emily chimed in, "I don't think so. If it's not a freezer, then she's safe. Meanwhile, let me make it clear—nothing is sweeter than being locked in a cold compartment, freezing your ass off." Emily let out a sadistic laughter. Then, slowly, she looked at the mirror close by, and the image of Abigail came into full view.

"Well done, Emily. You're learning so well from me. Very soon, you will be unstoppable."

PRESENT

Slyvia let out a loud shriek that made Harlan stand up to his feet and hurriedly walk up to her.

"What's it, Slyvia? Did you have another nightmare?" Harlan asked.

Slyvia looked around her. They were in the library. She had asked Harlan to take her there the previous night. She was apparently looking for a book that had answers about the Red Oak Tree, which was hidden in plain sight in the library.

"Harlan, there is a problem. The Red Oak Tree is dying. It seems the protector of it—the last child of light—has been killed," Slyvia began crying.

"Our friends were brutally murdered. How could she? How could she?" Slyvia cried seriously, falling to the ground.

Harlan was confused. "Slyvia, please, what happened?"

Then, as if blessed by a mage, she received an inspiration. There was a loophole to stop all of this, and today was finally the day—the night of the Blood Moon, the great eclipse—where she would perform a spell, a great one, and Lamia Alexandria would help her.

Yes, Lamia was coming to Paradise High today since it was officially visitation day. But as this was happening, Harlan could see Slyvia's dark smile. What was she up to? And why wasn't she telling him anything anymore? Had she figured out his secret? Oh no!

Meanwhile, a great sadness was about to envelop Paradise High—Jeremy and Asher were now confirmed dead.
