Paying the Price

"That's right!" Being pushed to this point, Blanche didn't deny it. "I did meet with Felix, and I do plan to take Jason away!"

Allen's expression instantly changed, becoming terrifying. His words were almost squeezed out through clenched teeth, "You met with Felix?"

"Yes," Blanche looked directly at him. At this point, what was there to fear? "But that's a separate issue. The only thing I care about is Jason. Jason belongs by my side."

Allen could no longer hear anything after that. All he could remember was that she had met with Felix.

"I told you not to meet with Felix!" Allen roared.

"Does it even matter?" Blanche sneered. "What gives you the right to control what I do? No, let me put it this way—you love controlling others, making them follow your plan step by step, don't you?"

Their thoughts were completely disconnected. They were both talking about what mattered to them, while ignoring the bigger issue at hand.
