"Hmm, got it. Then I'll head back first. Matthew, I'll leave these matters to you."
"Sure."
Blanche stretched lazily. Although it wasn't time to clock out yet, with Allen's permission, she swaggered out. She had to admit, leaving work early felt really good.
"Shelly, it's not quitting time yet. Are you heading back?"
Blanche saw Martin holding a pile of documents and said, "I'm feeling a bit unwell and want to take a leave to go home. Why are you holding so many files? Let me help you."
"No need," Martin quickly declined. "These have been sitting around for a long time and are a bit troublesome to sort out. I feel bad asking you to help."
"What about the others in your department?" Blanche asked.
"They have other things to do."
Blanche immediately understood; workplace bullying wasn't uncommon. With so many documents for Martin to sort through alone, he'd be at it for ages.
