"Why did you bring me here? You could have left me, and yet... why am I here, Dexter?" Selene asked, Her voice quivers, caught between disbelief and hate. 

 "You think I wanted this? I didn't choose you, Selene. The pack... they demanded it. But now that you're here, I can’t let you go." Alpha Dexter said with an expression hard to read.

 "I’m nothing to you, How am I supposed to trust anything you say?"

He moves closer, his voice dropping to a whisper that sends a shiver through her. "You don’t have to trust me. But you should know, from this moment on, you’re under my protection. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you safe, whether you want me to or not”

Rejected: The Alpha King's True Mate

"Dexter, I really like being at sea. It makes me feel free."

I leisurely inhaled the sea breeze, while squinting under the bright sun.

"If you like it, I'll bring you here often."

Dexter put his arm around my shoulder and rubbed it affectionately.

"I guess we can come here now and then when we're not training," I told him, nodding.

"But training is the most important thing.I can't miss it."

"This is a rare chance for you to come out.Just let yourself have fun for once."

Dexter tapped my nose with his finger and smiled in amusement.

"We can go fishing in the evening and then have a candlelight dinner together.What do you think? You haven't had the privilege of tasting my cooking yet."

"A prince can cook too?" I asked, feeling shocked.

"Why do I feel scared to eat your cooking?"

Dexter whispered in my ear, wrapping his arms around my waist.
