"Why did you bring me here? You could have left me, and yet... why am I here, Dexter?" Selene asked, Her voice quivers, caught between disbelief and hate. 

 "You think I wanted this? I didn't choose you, Selene. The pack... they demanded it. But now that you're here, I can’t let you go." Alpha Dexter said with an expression hard to read.

 "I’m nothing to you, How am I supposed to trust anything you say?"

He moves closer, his voice dropping to a whisper that sends a shiver through her. "You don’t have to trust me. But you should know, from this moment on, you’re under my protection. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you safe, whether you want me to or not”

"Mr.Sterling, your brother and Miss Smith have arrived.Would you like to invite them in now?"

I was dealing with state affairs in the study when an attendant came to inform me about Dexter and Selene's arrival.

I raised my gaze from the documents on the desk and stared at the door.

I really wished that I could make Dexter wait longer in the burning heat, but I couldn't humiliate him like that for the time being.

That bastard had been lucky enough to survive.

But since he had come back alive, I had to express my condolences to him in person.
