This is the story of how I died…- Joking! I'm joking! I didn't die. This story is not for the faint of heart, are you certain you want to continue? Good. Then, let's start at the very beginning. I awoke in my room, my head towards the cold blank ceiling, listening to the same tunes through my earbuds as the night before. I slowly rose out of bed, looking around my room, hoping to find some purpose. As I rose, the strength from my body suddenly zapped, a migraine paralyzed me as it has always done since I was young. As I waited for the migraine to pass, I blankly stared at a photo from the previous decade, where my mother, father, and a younger version of myself stood. I shifted my gaze to the white cross necklace wrapped over the photo, the same necklace my mother always wore. Once I could move my legs again, I wandered toward the necklace, holding it firmly to my chest, wishing for a happy day and seeing my mother's face again…
I head to the bathroom where I prepare for what the day might bring. As the warm water hit my dark locks, sliding down my toned physique and fair skin, the paralyzing pain stuck again. I suddenly braced my body against the shower wall to prevent injuring myself. I slowly slid down the wall as I waited for this suffering to pass. Curled up on the cold wet floor, I started reflecting to when everything was normal, before my mother fell ill, before the migraines, when the sun still shined…~ "Aden..~ Come on Sleepy Head~ You still want to go to the Park don't you?" my mother' said. "Yes, Mama! I Do I Do!", my young self loudly expressed as I jumped out of bed. I suddenly awoke in the shower as my Father called to me while turning off the water. "Aden..!! Wake up..! Are you ok?", drying off the now cold water from my shivering skin. "Yea… Yea, im fine… just had another migraine..", I said with a quiver in my voice. "Did you take your medication?", my father said with concern, looking into my tired hazel eyes. "Not yet.. I was going to take them when I was done..", I said with a slight sigh. My father quickly got up to retrieve some water and my medication, as I slowly got up from the cold tile shower. I took my medication and water swiftly, looking at my father with gratitude and guilt. Gratitude for his assistance and care, but guilt for needing to be cared for. I thanked my father and finished getting ready for the day.
I put on my favorite black and navy shirt, black sweater, gray pants, black boots, black and navy scarf with a black and blue beanie to match with black earrings and sunglasses. For the final touches, I wore my mother's necklace. I grabbed my backpack and headed off to my local high school called Hallow High. My best friends Katie and Tyler waited for me at the school front and greeted me with a bright smile. "Aden where have you been?", Tyler said with slight annoyance in his tone. "We've been waiting foreverrrr!!~", Katie exclaimed, being as expressive as ever. "Aww~ You were? Im touched~", I stated with firm sarcasm. "Now catch up you slow pokes!!~", I screamed as I swiftly sprinted past the both of them, leaving Katie and Tyler shocked, trying to keep up.
