Mana crystals and other loot

Vergil checked the loot he had recieved from the two scions and regular mobs.The crimson crystals turned out to be highly concentrated mana crystals.

Mana crystals are extremely useful since they can be used in tandem with the SMBs technology to grant the ability to use mana to genetically modified fetuses.There on the fetus would develop mana as a genetically edited sorceror.

This avenue of experimentation is highly sought after by the SMB due to the obvious benefits.The genetically edited operatives of the SMB were already formidable due to their physical prowess.Giving them the ability to use magic was essentially the equivalent of granting a Knight with angelic wings.

There were some problems however.Getting high concentrations of mana from the Earth was next to impossible due to its greatly diminished magic.The only way to get mana in such high concentrations was using the dead bodies of noble sorcerors or sorcerors loyal to the SMB when they eventually died.This was difficult for obvious reasons.

Another way to get high concentrations of mana was mining it from the moon.Now the SMB could probably mine some more from the rest of the milky way galaxy and the surrounding solar systems but they were banned from doing so by the Ordos.The alien race that granted the SMB their tech wanted to test humanity by seeing if they could take control of the Earth from the noble sorcerors.

This approach was a lot more viable but there was a limit on how much they could mine due to the restrictions placed on the SMB by the Ordos.There were still a small number of genetically edited sorceror operatives of the SMB that have been created despite the limited resources.

The power of these operatives varied somewhat as the proficient use of magic depended on their talent and aptitude for magic.This was a topic in genetics that was still being researched and mastered to this day as not even the Ordos could fully master the magical genes of human sorcerors.

Another problem was that the regular operatives of the SMB didn't like or trust the sorceror operatives unless they had made significant contributions.This was due to the heightened status and importance that these special operatives had been given compared to their non magical counter parts.There was also fears and insecurities from the non magical SMB operatives about being made redundant entirely or simply being replaced by sorceror operatives.

Now however another way had been discovered in regards to getting high concentrations of mana.The dungeons.

The rest of the loot was interesting to say the least.The faceless nobles had dropped jewels and gem stones as well as gold coins.

The regular royal hunting dogs dropped dog collars.The special thing about these dog collars was that they could be used to summon a permanent companion dog.The breed of the dog would depend on the person's preferences and personality.The physical capabilities of the dog companion will scale to the individual who summoned it.The dog will be 100% loyal regardless of circumstances and will never leave the individuals side.The downside is that the dog can't be unsummoned and will be required to be fed food and water.It will also need to poo and piss like a regular dog which is inconvenient if you don't want to clean up after your dog.The dog is also able to die but can be replaced with another one of the dog collars.Its possible to have multiple dog companions at once.

The loot dropped by Kalmon was growth type physical weapons similar to the scepter of the laughing jester.The whip and rapier started off with the ability to amplify the pain felt by the injuries they inflicted.Both weapons could be made stronger and gain new abilities by having them absorb gold,jewels and gem stones.

The dog collar dropped by Mutt was different from the dog collars dropped by the regular royal hunting dogs in that using it involved a ritual of sorts.You had to drop some blood on it and when you put it on someone else that person would immediately become 100% loyal to you.If you don't drop your blood on it the dog collar won't work.The person that your using it on can't be that much stronger then you or it won't work.
