139 — Return to Our Home

"Keal. Kill this monster."

[I got it. Let me take over your body,] Keal groaned, his shadow entering Lucian's body.

The burning flames shifted to a darker shade of red, almost the color of blood.

"W-What is happening to the Duke?"

"I don't know… but this is certainly not normal."

The crowd standing at the back, injured and exhausted from the long hours of battle simply watched. Their fingers could barely move. They couldn't gather the strength to question the grand duke. Not when there was still one demon left— most probably the strongest of them all.

Cynthia turned, her eyes widening.

The energy coming from Lucian was no longer the pure energy from earlier but rather a dark energy— the same as the demons. But it seemed stronger— almost invisible.

She couldn't wrap her mind around what was happening. She quickly stood to her feet, walking towards him.

[Stand back,] a sharp and deep voice ordered.
