Keara

I opened my eyes to another morning in this unknown place. My story has been moving slowly; Kael started avoiding me. I hadn't seen him since that night. I spent the next few days reading, but it bothered me that my story wouldn't progress.

"Your majesty," my maid, Kyra, called, walking in. I turned my head slightly, but my eyes were glued to the book in front of me. "There's someone here to see you," she said.

"Okay," I said absentmindedly.

"Let's go," she said cautiously.

"Okay," I replied, standing up with my eyes glued to the pages. I opened my mouth in shock—the scene I was reading was so intense. I needed Kyra's help to avoid hitting a wall, but it's not like I could stop reading.

"Good afternoon, your majesty," I heard. I looked up and saw that I was in a sitting room. A man stood there holding a bag as he bowed.

"My name is Vince. I was sent here by his majesty. I'll help you with my expert knowledge to get your memories back while we visit places you frequent." I forgot I had said I'd do that. What do I usually do in this place? I don't think there's anything more interesting than staying in my room and reading my books.

"Okay," I said, stealing a glance at my book. I didn't want to stop yet.

"Shall we?" he asked, and I nodded, using my finger as a bookmark.

We walked out of the sitting room. My first time seeing the halls of the palace, I felt like I was walking in a maze. People bowed the moment they saw me; it was funny, but I held in my laugh.

"Your majesty, do you remember these halls?" Vince asked, and I looked around, squinting my eyes a bit.

"I…" I said, dragging it out. I turned and smiled, shaking my head. "I don't."

"We can't rush it," he said.

"The garden… her majesty loved reading there," Kyra said. I turned back to look at her but was surprised to see a large group. Do I need that many people following me around?

"Why are they following me?" I asked Kyra in a low tone.

"They are here to attend to you, your majesty," she replied.

"Can you tell them to leave?" I asked, still whispering.

"Your attendants must be with you at all times." How did I put up with this for two years?

"I don't think I'll remember anything if I'm distracted," I said, and Kyra got agitated. She turned and told everyone to leave, so I was left with just Vince and Kyra. This female lead does not like being followed.

I was shown to my 'private garden'. I must have lived an easy life these past two years, or I was locked up a lot; the second sounds more likely.

The garden had a unique scent, a mixture of different flowers forming a singular aroma. It wasn't too strong and just made me feel peaceful.

"Anything?" Vince asked, observing me.

"No, but I get why I'd like this place," I said, taking my seat on a chair in the middle with a neatly folded blanket on it. "I'll read here for a bit and see if I recall anything," I said, opening my book.

"We were asked to show you everywhere," Vince countered.

"We have until the climax. Don't rush; it's not like the villain will suddenly show up," I said, shaking my head and relaxing in my seat.

"Your majesty," I heard, and turned to see a pretty lady with unusual red hair approaching me. A friend? "I was worried when I heard what happened," she said, rushing to take my hand. I got a weird feeling and quickly drew my hand back. The villain really showed up just like that; then I don't have time.

"Who… who are you?" I asked, feeling suffocated for some reason.

"I'm Keara," she said, beating her chest. She looked like she could cry at any minute. Is she sincere or just good at pretending? "Here," she said, giving me a note. "This is a list of everyone you must have forgotten. I hope it helps you remember something," she said, standing up. She's considerate, but I can't trust her—she's definitely the villain. My female lead buff tells me she's the villain.

"I see, thank you," I said, tossing the book aside. She'd probably twist everything to deceive me.

"I spoke to some of my friends, but I didn't tell them it was you. I'll have some experts come to help. I'm sure there's a way to find out the source of the problem," she said, holding my hand again. "I'll make sure you get your memories back." What's her deal? Is she the one who caused it? Did she take my memories? Is that why she's acting like she's on my side?

"I have to go, but good luck. You owe me spoilers to that book," she said, smiling.

The moment Keara left, I stood up and looked at Kyra with determination. "Kyra, I need a notebook," I said, and she gave me a questioning look but obeyed without a word.

"Do you remember anything after meeting Lady Keara?" Vince asked.

"No, but I must do what every female lead does in this situation… write," I said.

In every transmigration story or one similar to mine, it is important that the female lead writes down everything she knows. If I write down what I know, it'd help me get direction as the story proceeds.

"Your majesty," Kyra said, giving me a notebook and a pen with a bow. Is it necessary that she bows with every statement?

"Kyra, do you need to bow?" I asked.

"Yes, your majesty," she replied with a bow.

"Then, can't you just call me Lilien?" I asked, and she shook her head. Her expression saddened for a second, then she schooled it.

"Have I asked you before?" I asked, taking my seat.

"Yes," she croaked. "I'm the only one serving you because when you first came here, you felt suffocated by the crowd," she explained.

"I believe that," I said, writing in my notebook.

My Experience in a Novel

What Do I Know?

I am married to an extremely handsome shifter who turns out to be their king.I have a lifetime supply of books, but I'm almost done with them.I've been married for two years and lost my memories the day after my second anniversary.

"What else?" I thought aloud, looking at the note.

Keara is definitely a villain, based on the eerie feeling I got when I touched her.Lucy is married with triplets (Side note: I can't wait to see them).Kael has no intention of letting me go.

Characters:

Lilien: Me—Female lead.

Kael: My husband. His role hasn't been decided yet, but he's probably a villain.

Keara: I don't know who she is, but she's possibly a villain as well.

Lucy: Too bad she's an extra in this story. If only I could go home, then her role could change.

Kyra: Also an extra.

Vince: Won't let me read my book in peace.

This is really fun. How will my story progress?
