Chapter 29: The Last Hope

Just as he was about to throw down his phone and head to his meeting, a long-awaited number suddenly invaded his phone's screen, and a look of surprise flashed through his familiar eyes.

Lin Miao'er thought that Gong Motin was very busy and probably wouldn't have time to answer her call, but to her shock, he answered with his deep and powerful voice after just one second.

"Lin Miao'er," his voice always sounded extremely reassuring.

"Mr. Gong, do you have time to drive and pick me up now? I have to go to Ming Huang for a contest tonight, but my driver took the wrong route, and I can't find a taxi at all," Lin Miao'er asked, clinging to her last hope.

"Okay, send me your location, and wait for me," Gong Motin said as he grabbed his car keys and hurried down the stairs with steady strides.

Lin Miao'er's heart calmed down considerably upon hearing his composed voice. She wasn't sure if Gong Motin would be able to come in time, but like magic, she inexplicably trusted him.
