The crowd cheered as our nexus shattered. I heared my teammates crying, someone even hit the desk but my eyes are still glued to the screen. A year of hard work ended just as the nexus shattered.
Summit, the competition that was held once a year, was the most awaited competition in the game of Master of the Rift. Not everyone have the chance to participate in it. The team should be within the top 4 team in the summer split in a certain region to be able to participate. Summit is held in October and lasts until November.
In addition with the Summer Split, there is also the Spring Split which is held on the start of the year. Depending on the results of Summit, the team's performance will be evaluated as a team to watch out for or as the team that showed the most disappointing performance.
After the game, the winner usually comes to the loser side to give a fist bump. I was only able to get my eyes off the screen when someone tap my shoulders.
He was the other team's healer, Ian. He smiled at me as he reach out a hand for a fist bump. I stood up and returned the fist bump and did the same for his teammates.
After the fist bumps, the winner went to the center of the stage where the trophy is. They surrounded the trophy and got ready to raised it up. At the signal of the host, they raised it up and the loud cheers of the crowd in the stadium errupted again.
I looked at them while organizing my equipments and made a goal to raise that trophy someday.
I was the last one to leave the stage and I saw the backs of my teammates and they were all slouched. Rocky's shoulder was trembling indicating that he was still crying. Our team's warrior, famous for his aggressive plays and innocent looks.
I looked at their backs and said to my self that we will win the Summit. I tapped their backs one by one.
"It's ok, we'll win next year." I said smiling to them.
Lucian, our mage looked at me and give me a small smile that didn't reached his eyes. After a week, I received a message from him.
"It was nice playing with you."
I stared at my phone for a minute, confused as to why he would send me that message. A few seconds later I understood why as my phone exploded with notifications from my social apps and messages from the people around me.
