Chapter 36

Jaylani stayed for a while and confirmed again.

"So you've decided?"

Harper reached out and stroked her stomach lightly, but chose not to answer Jaylani's question directly, smiling softly.

"Jaylani, I'm sure you feel it too. I don't belong here with everyone else, and I'm even more convinced of it after getting to know your story.

I've tried my best to control my thoughts because I don't want to be so miserable when it comes time for me to leave. Being torn from what I care about most would devastate me."

"That's right. I know." Jaylani stopped speaking for a moment and looked at Harper with concern. "But if I can feel it, then Wyatt... He should be aware of this as well, no?"

Harper went silent for a moment. Whether or not Wyatt felt anything seemed irrelevant at the moment.

He had returned to Ava's side after she had offered herself to him time and time again.
