"You were the one who found me, right? Do you remember where?" Harper asked.

Rita was silent for a while before answering. "So much time has passed." She replied. "I can't remember exactly. I just remember that when I found you, you looked like you'd just been born. You even had unwiped amniotic fluid on your body. You were wrapped in a nice little quilt as laid there."

Harper frowned as she listened. She knew everything that Rita was saying. Every time she asked about her birth, her mother answered her the same way, and she never doubted her words.

But at this point, she felt like her mom was lying.

"Mom, I remember that you said that you remembered when I was born. But if you found me in the middle of nowhere, how could you remember the time I was born?" Harper tried to control her tone since she didn't want Rita to feel like she was being interrogated.

Rita was silent again.
