The diary...
Black Zetsu glared at Kazuki. That arrogant jerk who claimed to be his brother! How much did he really know?
That diary was a key element in his plan. He had carefully written it to hasten the downfall of Uchiha Obito, describing in a sincere tone every moment from their first meeting, how they met, to his 'love' for him...
Of course, that wasn't the most important thing. Black Zetsu had subtly inserted references to Uchiha Rin's vision of 'peace', camouflaging the Eye of the Moon Plan as a young Uchiha woman's dream ideal.
Thus, even if Kazuki had a great influence over Obito, Black Zetsu was confident that the darkened Obito would keep up with him.
But...
If the diary fell into Obito's hands, there would be no problem. The problem was if someone else read the words written in the diary!
The idea gave him a strange feeling.
Social shame?
But what really bothered Black Zetsu was another question: How the hell had Kazuki found out? Since when had he been watching him?
For nearly a thousand years, he had always been the spy, observing others with his mayfly technique. But now Kazuki even knew that he had written a diary!
Kazuki's level of insidiousness and ambition has risen to a higher level in Black Zetsu's mind.
'The bloodline fusion continues to advance...' Kazuki watched with satisfaction as Black Zetsu stood petrified.
Intelligent people, especially conniving types like Black Zetsu, are very difficult to cause their moods to fluctuate under normal circumstances. They have a high line of psychological defense and a high level of self-control.
But the interesting thing was that, once the last psychological barrier was broken, everything changed.
His calculating, analytical mind began to work overtime, drawing erroneous conclusions, over-analyzing, falling into paranoia. In that state, an intelligent person could be easier to manipulate than an idiot.
Kazuki doesn't need to communicate too much with Black Zetsu to make the thinking of this mastermind behind the shinobi world go crazy.
Gazing at the pale moon in the daytime sky, Kazuki sighed.
What did he want to express? He himself didn't know...
But the sound of gold coins exploding gave him a clue: Black Zetsu was overthinking things again!
Black Zetsu really has no choice.
If Kazuki revealed his existence, Kaguya's resurrection would be impossible. He couldn't trust him to follow the Eye of the Moon Plan normally.
That guy was a lunatic! Not only did he seek to surpass Kaguya, but he also had ambitions to devour the Otsutsuki who came to hunt his mother.
For now, the only option was to stay close and watch his movements.
Black Zetsu did not trust Kazuki.
Especially when it came to the dojutsu he was basing his plan on. Black Zetsu seriously doubted that Kazuki had such ability.
Words are not enough.
Not even the God Tree can do something like that.
However, if he really has been honing a dojutsu of such level and that is why he has remained in the shadows for a thousand years, then it would all make sense. It would also explain why he had never noticed any traces of him, not even the slightest hint of his existence.
"H-Here... here you go..."
In the guise of Uchiha Rin, Black Zetsu handed over the diary with extreme reluctance. Her indecisive and hesitant attitude gave her an air of innocence, to the point that even the ever-kind and smiling Kazuki looked like a villain trying to force himself on an innocent young girl.
Kazuki accepted the diary with a carefree smile. He calmly sat down to the side and began to flip through it with interest.
And what would Black Zetsu have written in a diary addressed to Uchiha Obito?
Apparently, it started back in ninja school.
In great detail, Uchiha Rin/Black Zetsu had created a story in which she portrayed herself as an invisible girl who had always been secretly in love with Obito, without daring to confess her feelings. From the shadows, she watched him in admiration, feeling touched every time he helped an old man cross the street, thinking that he was a kind-hearted person.
Kazuki gave Black Zetsu a meaningful look and clicked his tongue.
Black Zetsu felt his composure crumble. Was this a public humiliation?
An unfamiliar feeling, something called shame, spread within him.
Kazuki pointed to a piece of the diary and began to read aloud, his tone mocking: "Today I saved Obito. There is no doubt that he is a genius of the Uchiha. His enemies even dare to invade the village just to attack him... Luckily, I managed to save him today, and now he will remember me..."
"If that's the case, then getting stabbed wouldn't be so bad."
"He even called my name... Too bad I wasn't the Rin he wanted..."
Black Zetsu was sweating profusely.
"Every moment with Obito is happiness. But war is coming... Can we continue living like this?"
"When will peace come? It seems like the war will never end... Why?"
"But Obito is someone amazing. He is a super genius of the Uchiha clan, and he is also my hero... Maybe, one day, he can become the hero of the entire shinobi world..."
Kazuki glanced through the pages, arching an eyebrow.
The diary recounted the daily life between Uchiha Obito and Black Zetsu, interspersing warm moments with Uchiha Rin's wishes for peace.
"It's well written, but it lacks a climax..."
The tomoe in Kazuki's eyes turned slightly. With a wave of his hand, he activated Yin Release and conjured a fine black brush, perfectly copying the calligraphy on the diary.
"It seems like you've had quite an interesting life. You went to a haunted house, and you even attended a wedding..."
As he spoke, Kazuki wrote in the diary and, after a pause, asked: "Do you remember the date you guys went? This is important for Kaguya's resurrection. Think about it carefully."
"W-What are you doing...?" Black Zetsu exclaimed anxiously. But seeing that he couldn't stop him, he ended up telling him the date with resignation.
Kazuki looked at him in surprise.
So this was the true value of Kaguya's third son?
He even remembered such trivial details.
"Okay, that's it." Kazuki handed the diary back to Black Zetsu. "Check it out."
Black Zetsu glared at him, fearing that Kazuki had ruined his work.
"04/24 - I went with Obito to the Nakano River. The most beautiful place in the world is on the banks of that river."
"05/21 - I went with Obito to Tanzaku City. There was a wedding there."
"09/22 - I went with Obito to the Iwagakure battlefield. War is terrifying, but with Obito by my side, there is nothing to fear."
"Obito is the best..."
"Obito could definitely bring peace to the shinobi world in the future and let everyone live happily together, right?"
On the last page, Kazuki had added those lines.
In that instant, Uchiha Rin/Black Zetsu became a drastically altered version of a tragic heroine.
Black Zetsu muttered the words written by Kazuki, imagining Uchiha Obito's reaction upon reading them. A bitter feeling washed over him.
He had to admit that this would undoubtedly be what would impact Obito the most emotionally, even more than his own manipulations.
"Okay, get out of there. This play is not just yours, I will participate too."
Kazuki stared at Black Zetsu, signaling him to abandon Uchiha Rin's shell.
Black Zetsu wanted to resist, but he had no power to do so...
Uchiha Rin's eyes lost their shine, and a black, viscous substance began to spill from her face, accumulating on the ground forming an amorphous mass.
"Cinderella after taking off her glass slippers and ball gown?" Kazuki smiled. "No, not even that. Cinderella was at least human... You're just a formless entity."
Although Black Zetsu didn't know what Cinderella was...
Still, he caught the meaning from Kazuki's tone and understood the mockery in his words.
What did he mean by that?!
Was he implying that without that body, he, Black Zetsu, would not be able to control Uchiha Obito's heart?
It's ridiculous!
But deep down, he began to doubt...
Could he really do it?
Kazuki, with a smile, watched Black Zetsu struggle internally. He then moved his fingers and used ninjutsu, seals, and curses to transform the body of Uchiha Rin that Obito valued so much into a remote-controlled puppet, which he could manipulate at will.
Under Kazuki's chakra, a more lively, beautiful, and even seductive body of Uchiha Rin 'came to life'.
The eyes of the new 'Uchiha Rin' shone with an intense crimson glow, the fruit of Kazuki's Yin Release. Within them, a genuine ocular power pulsed...
"If I love Uchiha Obito so much, then seeing him sacrifice himself for me should be enough reason to awaken the Sharingan, right?" Uchiha Rin's voice rang out, clear and firm. "That is a difference you will never be able to overcome, Zetsu."
"Even though you can imitate many things, capturing the essence of the Uchiha's ocular power is not so simple..."
"An outsider can never fully master it."
In Uchiha Rin's eyes, a solitary tomoe began to spin, evolving into three perfect, dark and elegant tomoe.
In his amorphous state, Black Zetsu stared at the new Uchiha Rin...
Uchiha Rin... his old identity...
Kazuki controlled her and spoke directly to him with his own 'shell'.
This was an absolute provocation!
"Huh..."
Kazuki enjoyed the fusion of his bloodline brought about by the constant ups and downs in Black Zetsu's emotions.
For an instant, his skin, tanned from arduous training, became paler and smoother...
His black hair turned immaculately white like snow.
Black Zetsu watched Kazuki's transformation with growing bitterness. Any doubts about Kazuki's identity disappeared completely.
There was nothing else to say!
This was the Otsutsuki bloodline, the same as Kaguya's, impossible to forge!
The talented brother of the family was bullying the untalented brother again!
If given the chance, Black Zetsu would definitely go complain to Mother Kaguya about what Kazuki was doing.
But, recalling Kazuki's attitude towards Kaguya, he could only sigh in resignation.
This man is a lunatic, not a filial son like him to Kaguya's mother...
