Happy People

Ba'dqeel studied me for a short time before nodding his head. He walked back over to the main console of the runner and typed in a long code.

"Our species doesn't really use AI technology," he said. The panel in front of him blinked red for a moment before going blank again. "But that doesn't mean that we haven't heard the stories about what happened in other sectors of the universe. If you think we need to be on guard, then that is what we will do."

Letting out a sigh of relief for not having to go into detail, I smiled up at my mate. "Thank you," I said before He'dtaalh took my hand.

"Never thank me for protecting you. It's my greatest honor to be able to do so," smiled Ba'dqeel as he rubbed the top of my head.
