Finding My Home

After a while, I ran out of songs to sing. Well, that wasn't exactly true… I just decided that the Nycteromyian males that had come into this forest to track me down and make me bleed didn't deserve a free concert.

The moment I stopped singing, the fighting started up again, like the trance had worn off and now they remembered why they were in the forest.

'Your males are looking for you,' grunted Gabriel through my helmet. I nodded my head but didn't bother to respond. I didn't want my males around me right now. I just wanted to… be. As weird as it sounded, I was actually enjoying the time alone.

Okay, so I wasn't really alone—there were thousands of males in the forest with me—but I felt free—like I could finally breathe.
