SECRET

QianQian went home earlier than usual in the evening and she was surprised to see Siqing sprawled on the couch a sleep with his little cat. He looked so tired.

Lately, Lu Siqing always looks so exhausted and would occasionally doze off during meals. This new habit of his made her worry about him "was he over working himself with the house chores?" She thought.

She walked to him observed him for a while then she picked a blanket and covered him with a blanket. She walked to her room to freshen up.

Walking back into the kitchen she noticed the well organized utensils and the empty rice cooker, she realized that he had not made dinner. She took out her phone and ordered food then walked back to the study to work.

She worked for an hour. After busying her self with her work she went downstairs when she heard the door bell and picked the food.

Looking at Lu Siqing who was still sleeping, she felt bad waking him up but she had to wake him up so that he can have his dinner.

She walked to the couch and gently tapped him to wake him up. He lazily opened his eyes and was startled when he saw her there. "what is the time?" He asked sitting up. He quickly picked his phone to check the time. "What"!!" I forgot to make dinner" he said and jumped off the couch startling the sleeping cat .

"It's okay. I already ordered food,go wash up then come and eat. I'll wait for you in the dinning room" she said walking away

Looking at her unpack the delivery, Lu Siqing felt frustrated with himself. How could forget to cook dinner? He angrily ran his fingers through his hair as he walked to the bathroom. He quickly washed his hands and joined Su QianQian at the table. He took his bowl and started eating his food. "Sorry I forgot to make dinner"

"It's okay you don't have to worry about it" she said smiling

"Actually you don't have to cook everyday. It's quite tiring. You can cook when you are free and when you are not we can always order takeout. It's no big deal" she said " Also, you don't have to force yourself to do the house chores. It's too much work and can be tiring doing it everyday. I don't want it to affect your recovery"

She was worried that he was overworking himself with the house chores. It was very tiring to clean everyday . Even her as a proper lady she was, was so lazy when it comes to this so what about Lu Siqing? She had to find her previous help or a new one to do the work at home.

"It's okay, it's not tiring at all" he said shaking his hands. If she stopped him from helping her then what was he going to do? Just sit down at home and wait around? No he was not that type of person.

"If it's not tiring do you mind explaining why you are so tired most of the time? Nowadays you look like a wilted flower there is no more vitality in you like before. You even doze off during meals." She said placing her chopsticks on her bowl looking at him.

Looking into her eyes Lu Siqing momentarily felt the urge to tell the truth. He had been feeling guilty for a while now but he just didn't know how to start. He looked away from her he breaking the eye contact afraid that she would notice his lie.

" Am really okay. Trust me" he said smiling sweetly

" am tired because I have been working out a lot. I don't want my leg to be affected by my lack of mobility so I jogged a few times" he explained.

He was worried that she would be against his " working out" which will make it hard for him to continue his delivery job .

"Is that so? Okay then, but minimize the amount of exercise you do and don't exhaust yourself" ,she said taking her bowls to the sink. Am going to work in my study room, you should go to sleep after you are done eating" she said walking upstairs.

A few days later QianQian was out shopping with Ruan in one of the biggest malls in the city. " QianQian it's so hard to see you this days. Even me, your best friend has to book an appointment to see you" she complained.

" The company has been working on expanding our business. It's been too much work and sometimes I work overtime." She explained. "That's why I haven't been able to hang out with you. Don't worry I'll make up for all the time I missed out. Today just buy whatever you want I'll pay for it" she said pacifying her angry friend

" Don't regret your decision later" Ruan said walking into a high-end store. Su QianQian smiled and walked in the store. She knew that her best friend was at it again. Spending all her money however she wants.

They shopped for a while and later had lunch in a restaurant in the mall. Feeling satisfied with the day, Ruan allowed QianQian to drive her back to her apartment. "I hope you are satisfied with my service today" Su QianQian asked looking at her best friend who was seated in the car with a bloated stomach a result of over-eating.

She felt the urge to laugh at her but she restrained herself. She had warned her against over eating but she just wouldn't listen to her. Ruan had been hellbound making her spend a lot on this lunch

" Of course. You were so good today so I won't hold it against you." Ruan said shaking her shopping bags. " Since you are a very busy person I won't keep you here. Go back to your work" she said opening the door and getting off the car.

"By the way, I heard that there will be a class reunion in a few days. Will you go? " Ruan asked leaning on the window.

It had been a while since they last sawa their class mates. She was hoping to see them again this time but she didn't want to go alone. She needed Su QianQian to go with her.

" It all depends on my schedule. If am busy I won't go. I'll let you know if I'll make it"

Su QianQian hated the so called class reunion. All they cated about was bragging about this and that. She didn't have many friends back at school so she wasn't interested in attending this event. She just didn't want to tell it to Ruan

" Okay. Bye" Ruan waved at her and walked in to the building.

Suddenly she saw a familiar figure walking out of the building. "Lu Siqing? What's he doing here?" She asked herself.

She silently sat in her car watched as he walked to a bicycle opened the delivery bag and placed a dish in it. He then zipped the bag, and took the bicycle riding out of the community. She looked at the disappearing figure in shock.

So he was out here doing delivery jobs while she thought he was at home recovering? Was his leg fully recovered? She tried thinking if he had ever mentioned working as a delivery man but no he never mentioned it. This meant that he was keeping it a secret from her.

But Why? Why didn't he tell her about it? Why didn't he tell her about his hardships?

For the first time she felt stupid. Why didn't she realize that his exhaustion was not related to working out? Could jogging make him that exhausted everyday?

Why didn't she know that he was already working so hard out doing delivery and yet he still did all the house chores and even made dinner for her every day?

She felt like heartbroken remembering the terrible state he had been in over the past few days. She was a very bad friend for not understanding his situation. Suddenly her mood turned from sunny to sour

She sat in the car for a while trying to calm herself down. She felt the urge to follow him and question him about it but she restrained herself. If he wanted to keep it a secret then she will wait until he decided to tell her about it himself.

After calming down she started her car and drove out of the community back to her offic. Walking back into her office she hurriedly sat down and called her assistant Li Wei. Standing in front of her Li Wei was surprised to see her in such a bad mood.

She just left the office a few minutes ago in a good mood with Miss Ruan but now she came back with a bad mood. Su QianQian was rarely in a bad mood and whenever she was in a bad mood she never let it show on her face but today was different.

Li Wei suddenly felt a feeling of foreboding, this was not going to be any easy day.
