I practically staggered on my way back to the vet. I felt confused and distressed.
"Should I just run away?" I muttered but then realized what I just said and shook my head. "No, I can't do that." I said to myself.
But what could I do? I couldn't contact either of the twins and even if I wanted to, I didn't have their phone number or email address.
Should I have just rejected Mr Soo when he brought up the issue of bringing Seojin into the company.
If I had just come up with an excuse, maybe he might've changed the context of the condition.
"Ugh." I covered a part of my face. I felt troubled.
My dream job was in front of me but in order to reach it, I had to meet the twins. It was complicated and exhausting. Why couldn't everything flow peacefully?
Why were there always obstacles when I got something good going for me? Why?
"Um, excuse me." Someone called and I looked up to see a man wearing a white lab coat, standing in front of me. "Aren't you the one who came to drop off the Ragamuffin this morning?" He asked.
A bit confused, I turned my head to the building, whose entrance I had unintentionally blocked with my pause.
I had already gotten to the veterinary center and didn't even know it.
"Ah." I exclaimed and turned my attention to the guy in front. "Yes. Sorry, I didn't know I had already... Um...," it got a bit awkward.
For one thing, I was looking like a mess, having pulled my hair out in frustration, and another... He was really good looking and my eyes didn't know how to look away from a good looking hottie.
"It's okay." He said and proceeded to the door. "I was just out on a coffee break. Are you here to her the Ragamuffin?" He asked and I nodded.
"Y-yes. I... I'm here to get Lily." I said, awkwardly scratching the back of my head.
He smiled and said,
"Then do come in." He said.
I took a minute to compose myself before following him in.
But hold on, how did I not notice that a white haired hottie was in this vet when I dropped Lily off? I must've been way over the moon because of the email I got.
"Here we go." The doctor said, bringing Lily out from the cafe cage he has kept her in. He rubbed her fur and said, "You don't have to worry too much. Though the wound was a bit infected, I took care of it. You just need to bring her over twice a week to get it checked. Other than that, she's in good shape."
I took Lily from him and stroked her fur. She looked so calm. The shots properly made it so.
"Then, are tuesdays and Saturdays okay?" I asked and to which he nodded.
"Yes. That's fine."
He got closer and for a moment, I felt my heart leap. He was a tad too close.
He reached his ahnd out and I thought he was going to stroke my hair but in reality, he was reaching out for Lily. He stroked her hair and loved hearing her pur.
"She's a very adorable one." He complimented and I subtly looked away, hiding the embarrassment on my face.
"Aye. That's true." I said.
"So is her owner." He added and I subconsciously nodded, answering in the previous manner.
"Aye. That's true." I said and then my eyes widened, realizing what he had actually said.
I looked at him, shocked but all he had was a pretty smile.
'Wait, is he flirting with me?' I wondered, my heart going pitty-pat every single second.
It had been a while since someone tried to flirt with me so I actually forgot how to react. If he says one more flirtatious word, I don't know what I would do. And thankfully, his phone beeped and he had to look away.
I sighed in relief. I just need to settle the bills and get out of there.
"Also, dear customer, we have a variety of cat food and toys. Would you like to purchase some to take care of your adorable little cat?" He asked and then it dawned on me thay he wasn't actual flirting with me. He just complimented me a bit to get me to buy some of his products.
That realization made me feel like an idiot and my entire face went red on embarrassment.
Who was I kidding? Who would call a grown man adorable in this age and time?
"T-then..." I looked down at Lily. I already said I'd buy a few sat things and thankfully, I already got the prize money.
I could buy Lily everything she wanted. She could rely on me now.
"I'd like to see what you have, if it's not too much trouble."
"Of course it's not too much trouble." He smiled in delight and led me to another part of the center where cat supplies were stacked. "Ranging from food to toys, we have it all."
I stared at it all. It was literally animals paradise. But they were all for sale so...
"Then, I'll get..."
