Oh, Right, The Plaques Are...

Geez, f**k this damn place, was Bray's only thought as he placed all his free attributes and versatile points into his agility, dexterity, and defense stats, bringing them up by a large margin.

In the next moment, multiple swoosh sounds resounded in the air, those that had been chosen and given the plaques had tossed out their plaques as soon as the race of death game had begun.

The iron plaques moved at rapid speed, quickly latching onto different people, unfortunately, one of them missed because Sloven was able to react fast enough.

Following its miss, only about seven seconds had elapsed. "No!" the young man who tossed out the iron plaque screamed in shock and disbelief as he rushed towards the plaque.

Boom!!!

Unfortunately, he was late by a couple of seconds, and true to what the guard said, the man exploded into bloodmist.

"F**king hell?" Bray was unable to keep his thought within anymore and exclaimed, he had at least expected the guard to be slightly joking when he said that it was imbued with the SS-grade virus ability.

He didn't expect that the virus ability would be this terrifying. Terrifying enough to cause one of them to explode into blood mist.

After its host had died, the plaque remained on the ground. Is that the easy way to win this game? Bray thought while racing forward, evading the beasts and human obstacles alike that were ahead of him.

Just let all six that were given the plaque die, and then we can run freely toward the other side of the field without obstruction? Since Bray could think like this, others had similar thoughts as well.

If they helped in killing those in possession of the plaques, the treats in the midst of them, stopping them from freely going to the other side of the field, would naturally be eliminated.

Boom! Boom! Bang!

Suddenly, multiple punches from different angles appeared around those in possession of the plaques, and before they could react, they exploded into mush.

Everyone exhaled in relief, but their gazes were filled with various complex emotions, after all, they had just killed five people, two women and one man, just for the sake of their lives.

Of course it was only for a fleeting moment, a fleeting moment of guilt, they immediately let go of their thoughts in the next moment, seeing that the beasts had calmed down, and then began running towards the other side of the field.

Time passed very slowly, but Bray couldn't shake off the unease he was feeling, which let him to be constantly running at his full strength since the race began. The others looked at him in disdain.

"See what this new brat is doing."

"That way he will definitely finish his mana points quickly, instead of him taking his time and not rushing."

"Yeah, does he think there is some kind of reward for winning the first place?!"

Two hours passed when the guard from before suddenly spoke up from the distance, "Oh, right, I forgot to tell you. Gary made a few tweaks to his invention, so the plaques seem to now possess some kind of resonating effect, when all six of them are without an owner for more than an hour or two, they tend to get a bit lonely."

Immediately after his statement finished, everyone's expression changed drastically.

Clank, clank, clank.

From behind metallic sound rang, as though the metal plaque were trying to get up from the floor with much difficulty, it was as though they didn't want to be lonely anymore, just like the guard said.

Everyone looked in horror as the plaques came to life and they flew towards different people at great speeds. As for Bray, who was stunned that his intuition was right? Two plagues flew towards him like they were angry about him being so far away.

Bray could barely react when two plaques appeared beside him, and both plaques latched themselves onto him, just like they did with every other person. This time no one attacked.

They finally realized it. They had killed off six people for no reason, those that died before died a painful death, only for the plaques to come back to life. They felt lost, not knowing what to do.

Someone whom the plaque had latched onto suddenly screamed in horror, with a maniacal laugh, "Haha, I am so miserable, my whole damn life! It is so f**ked up, and this prison just f**ked it up in a much worse way."

"F**k me, even in hell, I feel so f**ked," Bray found the voice familiar, and in the next moment he realized to his absolute shock that Gable had committed suicide. The plaque in his hand slowly fell, along with his dead body.

They both dropped to the ground, and as soon as the plaque reached the ground, it once again sprang to life, quickly latching onto another person, as though it wasn't bothered by the life in which Gable lived.

In an instant, the whole place turned chaotic.

Roarrrrrrr!

Hoarrrrrr!

Tsssssss!

The atmosphere became oppressive, and blood flowed in multiple places. Many were unwilling to give up their lives just like that, and so they struggled for a sliver of life.

Following the death of Gable, Bray blanked out for a moment, this was someone he had stayed with in his cell over the span of the past few days. Although they hadn't interacted much, he felt that the killing intent Gable radiated wasn't the true him.

His mind was muddled, he didn't know what to think about, the fear of death was fully creeping in, even he felt that he wouldn't be able to survive this. What sort of world is this? Why do so many people have to die just for one person to achieve his aim?

Bray was so immersed in his thoughts that he didn't realize two large, ferocious world beasts creeping onto him. They bared their teeth and fangs, about to crush him as they both simultaneously bit at his head.

It was at this moment that Bray suddenly…
