We're all still wearing our Chinese best tonight. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. We sit in a banquet hall the size of the entire first floor of the Wendigo, with a ceiling that looks like the ever-changing nights sky, with stars forming the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac. The Dog, Monkey, Snake, Tiger, Horse, Dragon, Rat, Ox, Rabbit, Goat, Pig, and Rooster smile down on us as we eat.
The banquet is sumptuous. Roast pheasant, quail, beef, chicken, Peking duck, goose, venison, wild boar that we keep from Pigsy, a hundred different kinds of rice or noodle dishes, bamboo shoots, vegetables and the silkiest tofu I've ever had, stewed plums, peaches, lychees and a million types of exotic fruits ... you name it.
