Grace waited at the entrance of the kindergarten.
After picking up Little Gary, they bid farewell to Butler Holland and Ernest.
"Ernest, let's have dinner together tomorrow night. I will take Little Gary with me today. You'll have dinner with your dad, okay?"
There was a hint of displeasure in Ernest's big eyes, but the child was very sensible. Regardless of what he felt, he had never shown emotions that would embarrass the adults.
The little fellow nodded and replied obediently, "Okay, Aunt Smith. Tomorrow! You must keep your promise!"
Grace felt a twinge in her heart.
She stepped forward and gave Ernest a hug. "Ernest, I promise you that we will have dinner together tomorrow."
"Can I go to your house tomorrow?"
"Of course," she assured him.
"Alright," said Ernest with a smile on his little face. "Then I'll go now. Goodbye, Aunt Smith. Goodbye, Gary!"
"Goodbye!" Little Gary replied.
Grace held Little Gary's hand and they walked back together.
