Candace seemed to be very sensitive to the word 'death', as she immediately grew infuriated as soon as Grace mentioned it.
Grace had a hunch that Candace actually knew about her own condition.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have suddenly raised her voice.
It was obvious that she was intentionally hiding something.
Grace fixed her gaze sharply at Candace and said, "If you aren't about to die, why would you entrust Lowell to me? It seemed like you were making sure that I would take care of him after you die, weren't you?"
A trace of panic flashed across Candace's eyes, but she quickly calmed down. She narrowed her eyes at Grace, still refusing to admit it.
"Bullsh*t! I'm just too lazy to raise him. Lowell is a very thoughtful child. He will be a great helper in the future if you keep him by your side. You should thank me for that, instead of doubting my intentions," Candace responded.
Grace remained silent as she stared at Candace with a cold gaze.
