Celeste's heart ached and her face turned pale. She felt her chest tightening in pain.
Gary finally let go of her. His eyes showed no more emotion, only indifference.
Celeste paused for a moment and looked up at him.
He had closed his eyes, trying to hide and bury all his emotions. Almost instantly, he opened them again. The burning anger seething within his eyes disappeared. He did a good job keeping all his emotions in place.
Celeste was not sure what Gary was thinking.
"You may leave now," Gary spoke again. His tone was really flat, and he sounded like all hope he had was gone.
"Are you going to keep your word?" She couldn't help but ask him. The expression on her face looked like she was questioning his decision.
Gary stood straight as his back stiffened.
"Yes," He said coldly, "From now on, we are siblings. The house in Oxford, consider it yours. Consider it my apology."
"I don't want it," Celeste immediately refused and declared, "I won't go back anymore."
