Leah felt that whatever that came out from her mouth was bound to be wrong, and she was rendered speechless by Ernest. She felt embarrassed looking at him.
She could only deny it. "No, it's in the past. There's no more resentment on my end."
Ernest observed Leah's expression, and it still had traces of the blush she had earlier. He felt that Leah was way too cute for her own good.
He felt distressed and annoyed. His frustrations only grew when he recalled that she'd ended her pregnancy because of him.
"It's fine. I get it if you hate me. I'm here to explain what happened." Ernest gave Leah a serious look.
"There's no need for that," Leah replied stubbornly. "There's nothing to explain."
They had broken up, so there was no need to talk about the past.
It wasn't necessary at all.
Leah lowered her gaze to hide the sadness that flashed through her eyes.
Ernest sighed and said, "No, we need to talk about this. You need closure."
