Gary paused for a moment before squinting his eyes at Celeste. After a long while, he finally decided to mutter, "I understand you're mad at me, but you don't need to take it out on the fruits."
Celeste was stunned. She gasped, half-embarrassed, "That's not what I meant. I'm just not hungry."
"It's been several hours since we have returned from the beach, and you haven't touched any food since we came back. I would believe you if you were made out of steel," Gary was adamant.
Celeste frowned, "How do you know I didn't eat anything? I ate a bit when I was downstairs just now."
"You were only downstairs for five minutes before Lowell came upstairs. What could you possibly eat in five minutes? Furthermore, Lowell even talked to you before coming upstairs."
"Judging by my understanding of Lowell, he probably spoke a bit with you, am I right? In the midst of it, he most likely also wasted some time hesitating and stumbling over his words, right?"
