"It's written all over your face," Heinz replied solemnly.
Did she think he wouldn't hear her mumbling?
Despondent, Sylvia lowered her eyes and withdrew her hand from her father's leg, not daring to speak despite her frustrations.
Just then, her phone rang.
A chill went down her spine again. It must be Kendrix.
She didn't dare answer it in front of her father for fear that she would give herself away inadvertently if she did so.
