"This must've been Kendrix's idea. With Sylvia's character, she wouldn't have come back at this hour." Heinz knew his daughter as well as Grace did.
"That's why I admire Kendrix quite a lot," Grace said with a smile. "He's a policeman, so he has a respectable profession just like Jensen. He'll be able to take good care of Sylvia."
"He is indeed an excellent man," Heinz said matter-of-factly.
"He must be excellent to earn the praise of someone like you," Grace remarked with a smile.
Heinz chuckled. "I can't possibly say things that go against my own conscience, can I? I'm not such a person."
"Why yes, of course!" Grace nodded with a smile. "No one's character is as perfect as yours for sure."
Heinz also smiled as he held Grace in his arms and looked down at her with a gentle gaze.
Grace's faint smile was gentle, and her tone was tender and soft.
From what he remembered, she had not talked to him with such gentleness in a long time.
Heinz missed her gentleness.
