SUZIE’S POV
Asher parked the car the moment we were in front of the pack house, and before I stepped out of the car, I saw Roy, Blair and Felix run out of the house. They all stood at the front door, watching me intently as I slipped out of the car.
I wiped the remnants of the tears that had plastered itself to my cheeks and I could see how their faces contoured with worry. They all snapped their eyes to Asher, who had come out of the car. They seemed to stare at each other for a few seconds, like they were silently communicating with each other.
I ignored it however, and walked up to the front door.
“How are you?”
“Are you hurt?”
“What did that bastard do to you? I’ll make him pat.”
I was bombarded with questions from each brother and I was not in the mood to respond. I did not want to think about any of it.
I felt a hand on my waist and turned to see Asher standing beside me.
“Can you all give her some breathing space? I’m sure she’s tired and needs to rest.”
