Chapter 65 LET HER GO NOW

Preparations had been made, I had agreed to attend the banquet, but I had gotten cold feet at the final moments. I could not stand the thought of seeing my old lovers, regardless of the fact that the queen fervently promised that I would be protected. I just could not.

I sighed, hugging myself tightly as I curled up into a ball. I had steeled my mind; I would not attend this banquet, no matter what. The birds went on with their incessant noises and it was soon overwhelmed by the sound of knocking.
