SUZIE’S POV
My body lay on the cold cement floor, and through the silence, the only sound that rang through my ears was the double drops of water that came from the cracked ceiling. I groaned, my eyes slipping open.
My hands, which were tied stung with pain as that had been in the same position for a few days.
This cell, that was deemed inhabitable, had been my refuge for the past few days. The loneliness it brought was etched on my soul, and my only companion was that roaches and spiders that crawled by me occasionally.
My eyes scanned the dimly lit cell that was only illuminated by the small light that creeper through the only small window that was positioned way too high for me to reach. I looked out of the window, and saw a glimpsed of the moon, shining brightly in the night sky.
