Chapter 2

Harper's lips trembled and she couldn't say a word.

The hand around her neck wasn't so hard that she couldn't breathe, but she still found it hard to breathe, and it was as if something in her body had been drained, along with the oxygen...

Feeling the back of his hand stained with wetness, he flung her away in disgust as if he'd been burned by fire, lest he get something dirty on him.

"Put away your pretentious performance."

Harper's mouth was full of bitterness. She closed her eyes and blurted out as if she had exhausted her strength: "Then when your eyes get better, I'll divorce you."

"What are you playing?" Andrew was stunned, and the color of disgust in his brow was stronger.

Harper endured the blood in her chest and said in a dumb voice: "I have a condition... In the last month, we lived like real couples... Then, on this day next month, I'll sign the divorce papers."

She finished in one breath, as if she were afraid that she would never have the courage again.

When the word "divorce" came out of her mouth, Harper's heart seemed to be screwed with blood by an invisible hand.

She never thought that it would be herself who filed for divorce in her lifetime. She thought she would be Mrs. Barrett for the rest of her life, even if the title never lived up to its name.

Three years, five years, ten years, she will wait until the day she finally touch him, right?

Probably even God despises her and so takes away what little time she has left.

"But if you don't accept it, then I will never get divorced."

Andrew clenched his fist, and his mind fluctuated when he heard that Noah Connelly had returned home.

Noah was back. How can he give Harper a chance to get close to himself?

Harper saw him wandering and abruptly pounced on him, hugging him.

"Just one month, please... after a month, I will definitely disappear from your world..."

Andrew stagnated for a moment, the bottom of his heart suddenly rose a trace of inexplicable irritability, and his hand involuntarily wanted to push her away.

When he touched her, he suddenly realized that she seemed to have lost a lot of weight, and her whole body was so slim that she could be cut off with a little effort.

He thought to himself, what happens to Harper is none of his business. What matters is that he can actually get rid of her in a month.

"As you wish," Andrew said in a heavy voice.

Harper's pupil is full of despair when she heard it, but there is nothing she could do...

In the Barrett family's mansion.

The change in the young couple's relationship during this time was first noticed by Andrew's family.

Andrew is not happy with the union. The young couple's relationship has always been cold as ice. But when they go home for dinner this time, there is a faint trend of melting icebergs!

Andrew's parents are naturally happy to see it. "Will there be good news soon?"

"Try harder, let's be grandparents early!"

Andrew was annoyed. After eating with a sullen face, he was about to leave. With the help of Harper, he came down to the front of the car.

As soon as the door was opened, she was pushed hard by Andrew, and the back of her head was caught off guard and hit the other door, causing a cold sweat.

"Want to get pregnant? Is this your purpose?"

Harper suddenly looked up and saw a pair of lusterless eyes filled with anger.Even though those eyes couldn't see anything, the loathing in them was still accurately projected onto her.

It made her whole body ache, not just her forehead.

"No, no..." Harper swallowed her dry throat, she wanted a child that belonged to them so badly, but her body wouldn't allow it.

"It better be like you said." Andrew scoffed, got in the car, and continued to hurt her relentlessly, right down to the bone. "I'd rather never have children than let you have mine."

"Don't worry, there won't be any." Harper feels a little sad. She was unable to have a baby with him and he was unwilling to have a baby with her.

They didn't say a word the whole way.

When the car stopped at the door, Andrew opened the car door, and Harper quickly got off from the other side, trotted forward and took his hand.

For the rest of her days, she never wanted to live the life she used to live, cold as ice.

Andrew's tall body was stiff, but he didn't shake her hands off. He mused in his mind that there were ten more days to end all this.

Harper suddenly was radiant with joy, and a slight blush rose to her pale little face.

If only time stood still in this moment...

"Andrew, I am back." An abrupt sweet voice sounded from behind them.

The voice was like a magic spell, which instantly shattered the illusion of Harper's happiness.

Noah stood not far away, smiling.
