Chapter 6

Harper fell to the floor, dropping the tray in her hand and spilling her carefully prepared breakfast.

Andrew shouted violently: "How dare you hurt Noah!"

This slap was in the same place as the one a few days ago, and the swollen face quickly reddened and the mouth tasted like blood.

It's strange that Harper didn't feel anything.

Once she thought it was a blessing to be able to breathe the same air as Andrew, and it was happy to watch him eat what she made. Now she tended to be numb to the pain he gave.

She denied it callously: "I didn't."

Andrew suddenly grabbed her thin wrist, almost breaking it, and dragged her towards the gate.

He has long been accustomed to the darkness, and can walk as usual in this villa without guidance. He dragged Harper like a doll, not caring that she might bump into it.

Jacob had been waiting outside. He was not surprised that Andrew treated Harper so badly. Out of politeness, he asked: "Madam, I'll get you a pair of shoes."
